thats one of my soap pet peeves. I hate when characters randomly appear on the middle of an episode. I prefer when all stories for that day are set up in the first segment and it feels choppy when a different angle is introduced midway through

On the other hand, if all the characters and stories for that day are set up in the teaser and you don't care for any of them, there's a good chance you'll check out early.

Matthew: "We dont need a tv either, we have our laptops. Thanks though"

Todd: "I'm just saying that plasma used to be the rule, but ive heard these days that LED is da bomb diggidy"

OMG!! He really said it like that laugh.png

LOL! That was the best scene. I can't wait for Dani/Matt/Jeff pad antics.

I like the contrast between how Jack and Dani both dealt with Todd today. It's very much in keeping with their attitudes toward him on ABC as well. Dani hates Todd when it's convenient. And it's a shallow "hate". To her, it's not a big deal, not a priority, which is why she accepted his money today.

Jack's issues with Todd run much deeper and are far more complex. And, unlike Dani, he's a mini-Todd. Of course he wasn't going to accept the bribe, because he'd see it as surrendering power and allowing Todd to feel good. So Jack keeps his pride and Todd is forced to work harder for Jack than he had to for Dani.

Man. I actually loved EVERYTHING about this episode. I just enjoyed it all. (Aside from technical things LOL)

So nice seeing Bo's office again! I just loved everything about "Bora Bora" today. Bo and Nora are wonderful to watch. These scenes are why I love watching them and care about them. And I like that they still have the heavy stuff, I'm sure there will be cases and of course Matthew and Destiny and Drew so I like their light, fun, character building, couple moments.

Well, I lied about loving everything ... I like Viki's office, and like Llanfair, suits her, but it makes me think she's at Llanfair every time even when they clearly stated was 'in the newsroom' and has a secretary (with a desk outside the door, you best believe I checked for that LOL) so. My gripe is her office but I'll get over it.

Oh my other technical gripe is the editing. Dorian sure can zip around town. Damn. It really isn't that major of a deal but I think they could at least spread the scenes out. I'm all for a faster pace but still ...

I liked how Dani is letting Todd buy her things and they both know exactly what they're doing. I'm enjoying the fact that Todd finally has a daughter who is how she probably should be. Not a pop singing heroine. I think she who shall not be named would be written better here. Or not because she was a 'heroine' for what felt like decades long. Dani in a sense was still a fresh slate.

Tea and Dani's attitude and their conversation was my everything. For some reason I just love seeing Tea dealing with Dani. I really like watching Tea actually be a mother to a daughter with just as fiery of a personality as she has. It's so much WIN. Everytime.

Oh, I noticed Victor being careful with some things but then not with others. There has to be a reason for that. Or it could just be a 'whoops' or it could just be something that won't ever matter. We'll see I guess.

Todd and Viki were wonderful. I really liked their scenes. I was glad Clint left. I missed these Todd/Viki moments.

LOVE Dorian in action today. And without her lap dog. YAY! Although I'm liking David so much more again now that he's not under Ron's pen.

The interraction between Matthew/Jeffrey/Dani is great. Loved Jeffrey flipping the finger, all the talk about masturbation, the rules, etc.

There might be more in this whole poisoning story, unless Victor changed his mind.

LOVE Dorian's scheme to take Viki down and how she's buying into it. This is going to be flipping fantastic.

Also liking the direction Bo and Nora are going in.

    • I forget that throughout the 80’s the TV seasons were officially over in April. Not sure why that was the case but it wasn’t until the mid-90’s that May Sweeps became a real official thing.
    • Jon Lindstrom proved with Ryan Chamberlain on GH that he can play menacing and evil. He's not doing it here, and I think it's a combination of writing and performance.   To be fair, Longoria has modeled and has represented major companies like L'Oreal, but she was never a runway model. I don't have any problem with seeing Dani as a runway model. I think it's more than possible, and I don't understand anyone criticizing her look. I actually have a bigger problem with the whole "Anita is an EGOT" thing. I think it goes way too far. Give her a Grammy. Say she was nominated for a Tony, or even won. But an EGOT winner? No.   The fact that you're using DAYS to defend a BTG set is telling, since we all know DAYS is poverty level soapdom. I expect so much more and better from Gates.     I can't help it, but I'm LOL at the people defending that backroom bingo hall casino and making excuses for it. It's hilariously bad.
    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
