Old TV promos

Not sure if this should go here or not. The videobash thread has been tough for me to use lately.

I thought this might be a place to put old TV promos.

A lot of people here seem to have enjoyed the old UPN days. Here are some promos. I'd forgotten some of these shows even existed. I'd also forgotten just how prominent those "worst/when/attack" specials were.

Was that Jennie Garth in the 1999 promo? I guess it couldn't be, as 90210 was winding down then.

That first ad is very classy. I was never heavily into the WB, because of the "Pretty White Kids With Problems" (as Mad TV called it) overload, but they had a knack for casting and classy promos and how to create buzz. Sometimes I'm surprised they didn't make it, the way FOX did.

Michelle Williams in that jean jacket. Those rarely work out.

SMG and Shannen together - fitting, somehow.

No, I think the woman you are talking about is Leslie Bibb from Popular.

That first ad is classy. It was the finale night promo before it signed off where they showed finale episodes, or pilots, of their shows ending with Dawsons Creek and a very touching DC speicifc promo thanking them for helping define a network that defined a generation.

The WB also aired this great thing for DC endeding, i think it was from the upfronts though - http://youtu.be/-k2zXeo6DIc

It's a nice way to say goodbye to a network, very respectful of the audience and the shows.

I watched WB when it first started and they had the shows about foul-mouthed puppets, and that show Steam, and then 3-4 years later they were teen drama central. I do think quite a few of them appealed far beyond the teen demo, which may be one of the reasons they had such long runs (either that or it was down to their being on a network that didn't have as much room to cancel shows).

I wonder if UPN ever had any of those.

The "Oh What a Night" one was probably my favorite.

I guess they didn't have one for 2005-2006 since they were wrapping up.

This was posted in the CPW thread a few months ago. These were some CBS promos in their 95-96 season, the first Les Moonves ran, and the one which tried the most radical changes to the traditional CBS lineup. I think these promos are cool, sleek, stylish...and on the wrong network.

I guess you could see they were going downhill with the 2004 one.

The "Let's All Be There" promos NBC used for the 84-85 & 85-86 seasons were the best ever:

Qualitatively, I also believe that the network's programming was at a peak as well during those years. It's amazing how far NBC has fallen.
