I'm getting pretty [!@#$%^&*] annoyed with the "cute" allusions to the PP/GH conflict in the scripts these last two days, with Ron and co. apparently casting themselves as the "heart and soul" of OLTL ELQ and Pickle Lila despite any pale imitators (while writing General Hospital).

Tell it to the longtime cast and crewmembers in Connecticut, guys. These dudes have been listening to the blogosphere for too long and gotten high on their supply. They did a lot of good and a lot of bad, but they are NOT OLTL. Get over it.

From fans of the current GH to non fans, nearly everyone I know seems to feel the canvas is probably too large right now anyway. Concentrate on that. Don't get me wrong--I love a soap that's rich in recurring characters and a sense of community they bring--but that's not the same as introducing a character or bringing back a fave character, putting them in an instant story, and then featuring it every ten episodes.

Ron seems to be bitter, hold grudges and thinks highly of himself. Frank comes off much better but he never seems to reign in Ron, making him as equally guilty IMHO. I wish the press would stop treating them like the second coming. Anyway ....

I think one reason is Frank is much more careful about his public persona (frankly how I think a soap exec or HW--love or hate their work, should be.) Both in interviews but especially since he doesn't tweet the way Ron does. I am having a hard time thinking of any TV show exec who has behaved that way *while writing the show* (I can think of ones who complained about fan comments long after their time at a show, but for whatever reason that seems less childish to me.)

I can see him shaking his head at a lot of Ron's stuff. But I do think he holds responsibility--he had to say all that crap about the Kish romance cancelation, although I still don't think that was his decision.

I will say Jane's brilliant, as always, delivery *almost* makes it work. Poor woman--no wonder she charitably said in her interview she'd like to EVEn do a story with Luke again to get away from relish (OK I'm putting my own reading into her wording, but...)

I thought if anyone enjoyed this slipshod "writing" for this clown, it'd be you. TIIC backed into Connie being the host, something she always was, but before that, she was this infuriating rape joke sluggette taking over Kate's life. In any event, the noncharacter is not needed on GH. However, she's a FRon pet, so we are stuck with her. Hope Carly doesn't share scenes with her too often. I'd be depressed if I were forced to watch that POS!

This cast is way too bloated. I'm happy this canvas consists of more than Sonny, Jason, Sam and the Horse, but there are just way too many people all over the place involved in way too much.
