Actually... I thought Jamie Lunar had the essence of Liza down (circa 1995 Liza). She had some of her mannerisms down pat, but she was too young for the part.. but I thought she mailed Liza.

I think the college students writing an episode is brilliant. You need to start fostering and nurturing the next generation of soap writers. Part of the problem of the last twenty years or so was the lack of this.

i loved JL as Liza.

She was too young for the role, but I didnt find it that unrealistic that she had some good surgery/work done. She didnt look 20 years younger than the people in her characters age range, while MEK maybe but he sorta just didnt take care of his looks - and thats fine.

Apparently the promos are also running on Lifetime Movie Network and the Style Channel.

They certainly are letting people know they are back

It won't do them any good, though, if half of their audience still hasn't figured out they can watch 'em for free. ;)

I like this too, but I think there actually did continue to be nurturing of young talent up until about ten years ago. Procter and Gamble did a couple of college soap writing contests in the late 90s, and Ryan Quan who is now a writer at DAYS was discovered by that. ABC also had a writer development program. And David Kreizman and Ron Carlivati started young and rose up through the ranks at GL and OLTL

Eh... That might be a touchy example since both climbed the ranks to write both shows into cancellation.

However, we can never forget the amazing, young soap writing genius that rhymed "Jack Abbott" with "Black Rabbit" and wrote "cut the crap."

Just saw it during a Roseanne repeat (the one where her and Jackie are working at the supermarket and competing) on WE.

Awesome! Thanks, Angela, seriously. It looks great, if I were a lapsed fan that would give me incentive to watch. Good idea to start with Viki.

One small nitpick about that commercial: "Loss" instead of "Lost" makes more grammatical sense.

Why? They're two different words that describe two different emotions.

I thought the same, Lost doesn't fit
