February 13, 201313 yr Member And there you have it! Exactly the problem with these stunt casting, limited run "drivebys" all for the sake of, well, stunt casting. You don't have time to develop the character, delve into the character's history and create a fleshed out story... so you just give the character some generic motivation and try to pass it off as a story. I mean, seriously... the whole "I've been gone for 2 decades, dropped back into your life out of nowhere and I want you back!" story is absolutely NOT NEW! We've just been through this with Duke! It's hollow and limiting with only the audience's nostalgia to sustain them. Clearly, to people who don't have any connection to this character or nostalgic views of the show's glory years, they don't view the douchebag prick behavior as being "part of Frisco's charm." They just view him as being a douchebag prick. I was just thinking while watching that this was all seeming a lot like Duke and Anna in a way. It gets to a point where--if they can only afford, or use an actor for a few episodes, I'd rather they just did what AMC did for its 25th and had a bunch randomly show up for the anniversary event--like the Nurses Ball. When the show doesn't feel like there's any chance it will invest much in the story, how is an audience meant to?
February 13, 201313 yr Member Tony is with Leora in never never exist land. AJ at least mentioned him recently, albeit by saying he would laughing his ass off in the grave over Carly losing Johnny and Todd. When Luke first met FaisonasDuke, and mentioned Anna's marriages to Robert and David, didn't Leora come up then (honestly asking here)?

I was too appalled by Anna all but saying she'd never lost a child before Robin to pay attention to most of the story after that.
February 13, 201313 yr Member Friscos return should be more about his relationship with Maxie with this Mac/Felicia thing as hus minor story, not the other way around.
February 13, 201313 yr Member Based on her wardrobe in yesterday's episode, they could just have scenes where he gives her a $10 bill and tells her to go to the local shelter, and passes by before anyone tells him she's his daughter. Edited February 13, 201313 yr by CarlD2

I actually only watched pieces of the show last fall, if that, because of a lot of long work hours I had back then, and for whatever reason I don't think I ever watched that entire scene. February 13, 201313 yr Member I'm really glad we got a scene where Lulu expressed her sadness over Johnny getting 20 years. Wish there could've been more emphasis put on that but it was still good Starr First of all I was infuriated they had this little girl prance in and interrupt Laura & Lulu's cute mother/daughter reunion like that. Ugh! And her scenes with Johnny at the jail were beyond forced & horribly written. Why is she even giving him the time of day after what he did to Cole & Hope? Oh and Johnny gave her his Haunted Starr shares - and she accepted? The f*ck?! WHY would this bitch want anything of his?! OMG... PATHETIC! Edited February 13, 201313 yr by AllMyDaysatGH
February 13, 201313 yr Member I enjoy your recaps (in part because I feel less guilty about when I use emoticons). I had to laugh at the "Haunted Starr." She needs to change the name. How about I Had A Daughter Named Hope And She Died? Or Coleandhope?

February 13, 201313 yr Member That first Laura/Lulu reunion scene was interesting, as it was awkward, like Laura was trying to see a somewhat distant family friend. I wonder if the show played it that way deliberately. Edited February 13, 201313 yr by CarlD2
February 13, 201313 yr Member And [!@#$%^&*] Starr has to ruin Laura and Lulu. Seriously? Why is this bitch going to be running a club? I just have a hard time seeing her in a serious storyline because Kristen Alderson, I'm sorry, still looks so damn young and too damn young to be this lead heroine FRon want her to be. IDK. The writing just isn't there for Starr and I feel like anyone could be in her role and Cole and Hope's death could have been just a backstory for this young girl introduced to GH. Anyway .... Anna and Luke are disgusting. I do like Luke and Tracy but yeah, just as friends. Luke seems to suck the life out of any woman he's with. At least Tracy and Luke have great friendship chemistry. I see them as kindred spirits, just not "meant to be ..." IMHO. Not that I want Luke with Laura again. I'm almost dreading it for some reason.
February 13, 201313 yr Member For the most part, Tuesday's show bored me. I think Jack Wagner is showing us why John Stamos was so much more popular back in the day. As a young teen, I had a crush on Frisco and I don't remember him coming off as so douchey. Maybe Jack's pissed that the writers dropped his story thread last week and picked it up in such a weird place. I have nothing to add about AnaL. I hope Lulu's nonreaction to Laura is leading to a bigger scene between them where Lulu tells her mother how much she missed her. Laura's phone call at the end gives me hope that she really is with Scotty now (I'm staying spoiler free for the moment)!
