HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

He can't be any worse than Trent Garrett, who no one cared about but who also had a nice body.

Trent Garrett was a model but he had a fairly normal body -- fit but not the six-pack abs, bulging biceps. Garrett also had a lot of natural charisma and conveyed his character well when there was a clear direction to him.

The show made the reveal about Asher being Caleb's son too fast, and made him forgive Caleb too fast, then they didn't know whether to put him with Colby or not and what to do with him, so Asher came across as just kind of there, but it wasn't Garrett's fault.

Personally I think Kreizman/Swajeski had a plan but Frons vetoed it and that's why Asher was stuck in holding pattern after his first three months.

That's a great explanation, but it's longer than anyone in the audience spent caring.

Classy/Cute exchange between Eden & Christina on Twitter!

CBL: So incredibly excited for you to carry the torch you so courageously lit! Long live Binx! #shewasntshot!#edenriegelforpresident

Eden: I can't tell you how much this means to me. But I'll try: You are so beautiful, generous of spirit and lovely. Thank you.

This is nice, but they definitely made a mistake. I LURVED Lind in the role. I don't look forward to seeing Riegel again after her horrid Y&R stint.

I liked Lind better too. For some reason, Riegel seemed to not have a personality as Bianca, while Lind did. LIke their Twitter exchange though.

And LOL Vee, ouch.

Was told last week Rob was going to One Life to Live (hense my tweet). Looks like things changed. We'll soon find out.

Who, as Matthew?! He looks way too old for that part. Definitely a better fit as Petey.

SBH herself has said she shouldn't have been EP and HW at the same time but that it was a stopgap measure after Gottlieb and Griffith left.

I do think she maintained the style, fabric and tone of Gottlieb and Malone's OLTL for at least two more very good years, in the face of ABC pushing hard on certain new hires. There were a few dud storylines and characters here and there, as there always are on any soap, but honestly, it was a very good show AFAIC with stories that are now legend to most fans. And she certainly had a long history as a talented staff writer in Gottlieb's run - she was apparently very close to LG - as well as at P&G. I'm more than willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. People like to nitpick based on this, that and the other nuance of who was or wasn't in charge when, but to me good is good. And Horgan minded the store very well for her first two years as EP, until she couldn't deal with ABC anymore or manage the HW properly.

And in any event, she's not EP anymore.

I disagree. Gottlieb's OLTL was lauded for its dramatic and cutting edge docudrama style especially for Todd's 93-94 story. In 1995, that style was dropped and instead became standard soap fare. Viki's DID story was very good in 94-95 but sputtered out in 96.

I give SBH props for being loads better than Maxine and Jilly who followed her but I'd be far more excited for PP under Gottlieb's hands. She knew how to deliver cutting edge drama.

Well opposite the new Destiny, I definitely think he does. Imagine if it was still Shenell, since they had asked her to return. Aca-awkward!

I guess. Well I though RPG was to ethnic looking to be a Martin, so I'll accept this casting.
