HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

I do. laugh.png I really liked Micah Alberti's Jamie and to this day I would take him over Bruening in a heartbeat.

I agree.

I do, too.

Bruening was forgettable to me. I feel like Brooke's only real child deserved more.

I agree with you, too.

No offense but you are doing a lot of speaking for others with those statements. I remember the other JRs.

We've been through 2 Kendalls 2 Biancas, 4 JRs, 3 Colbys and 3 Scotts (not counting infant portrayers) and each of those actors have viewers who loved them and remember them and new actors can do the same.

I agree. Though haven't we had 4 Scotts? Umm that first one in the teen scene during the gay storyline, Cosgrove, Forbes M, whoever the Hell played him with Marissa (and then Cosgrove again). Yes, I am awesome with actors names.

OMG I forgot about Adam Mayfield laugh.png

Ha that's his name. I'm sure most of us have (he actually wasn't awful, IMHO, but he just didn't make much of an impression and didn't seem to have A story chops yet).

Yes but he did have an uncanny resemblance to David Canary :)

I also enjoyed Micah's portrayal much more than the cockiness of Bruening, and felt he was more the child Brooke would have raised.

I also note the resemblance of Adam Mayfield to David Canary, and although the characters weren't bio-related, felt he had a good vibe as Stuart's son.

I thought Mayfield was a decent enough Scott. IMO, he did a good job with a role that seemed to suffer from a lack of vision on the part of the writers.

I thought some of his moments of bein really dramatic were not... the best (more just an actor who maybe was still a bit green), but I agree it was more the faults of the writing when he came on.

I liked him but he came across as too much of a goof and not believable as a leading man, which you needed to be if you were paired with Annie. The triangle with JR wasnt even fair. I thought DG hadbetter screen presence

Did I miss before where it was confirmed HBS was doing the nuOLTL?

This spring, two of television’s most well-loved daytime dramas, “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” will make their return online in a groundbreaking move orchestrated by production company Prospect Park. All new episodes of both programs will be available to millions of fans through the free service, Hulu.com, as well as millions of Hulu Plus subscribers who can connect through TVs, mobile phones, tablets and PCs. In addition, the hugely-popular series, both shot in broadcast-quality HD formats, will be accessible through iTunes, where fans can enjoy viewing on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV and their Mac or PC.

New 30-minute episodes of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” will be introduced each weekday and Prospect Park and TOLN plan to blend new themes, fresh stars and youthful energy with the familiar actors and writers who made these shows must-watch afternoon viewing for legions of loyal fans.

Many of the show’s actors will reprise their roles this spring with “One Life to Live’s” Erika Slezak, Robin Strasser, Tuc Watkins, Robert S. Woods, Kassie DePaiva, Jerry verDorn, Florencia Lozano, Melissa Archer, Hillary B. Smith, Kelley Missal, Josh Kelly and Andrew Trischitta set to return when production begins. In addition, Sean Ringgold, Shenaz Treasury and Nick Choksi will return in recurring roles. Susie Bedsow Horgan joins as co-head writer, alongside Thom Racina.

“All My Children” cast who have signed on for the newly-produced series include Darnell Williams, Debbi Morgan, Lindsay Hartley, Jordi Vilasuso, Jill Larson, Thorsten Kaye and Vincent Irizarry.

It completely went over my had that Hilary B. Smith had been confirmed. I believe she's still only hinting at it on Twitter.
