HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

Now you want an actor to lose their job? Weren't you just going out of your mind a couple pages back because these actors were potentially losing their jobs?

So let me get this straight--it's only righteous indignation if an actor you like loses a job but screw 'em if it's someone you don't.

Lawd. You bring back memories. Rachel and Mac were one of my faves. Then the whole Carl Hutchins thing.(Yuk) And your example applies to Joe Riley and Viki.

But you are still missing my point. Steve Frame didn't go join another show and have his backstory revised, while Jamie was living on Another World. It's not about any one particular character. I sincerely and genuinely don't care if John and Natalie reunite. John is, and always will be an OLTL character, or a "hybrid" if you prefer, and it's that hybrid thing that simply cannot be allowed IMHO. Can John and Todd and Starr exist on GH without ever touching on their former lives in Llanview? Can the characters in Llanview simply act like Todd and Starr never existed? And when John arrived in Llanview, he came with a back story created out of vapor. There wasn't another show on which Caitlin lived on and had new lives and loves. (I'm assuming that's what you meant when you said replace Sam's name to Natalie). That's a huge difference. The hybrids come to GH with completed backstories that are tied to another show in which these characters from their history live on. And not a sister show in the ABC line up. A completely independent production with no ties to GH. Can John exist on GH and simply no longer have any relationship with his son on OLTL. Can Todd? Do Liam and Jack and Viki and Bo etc just simply cease to exist for them? Because that's what has to happen. Jack's story on OLTL is going to be driven in part by this hatred he has of his father, and they aren't really going to be able to address that because the hybrid is on another show. There's a looming custody battle unless John just gives up and says forget about it? How is that story to be told? Liam will be sorassed one day and the potential story for him is wanting to know more about his dad and why he abandoned him and finding out that Grandpa Clint basically took his father away. That story is eliminated. And all that "baggage" is a huge part of what soapy stories are made of. All those complex histories and rivalries create more story.

Honestly, I am not the one all hung up on John's or Todd's love lives. I'm just about building the best OLTL there can be, and these ARE OLTL characters. Even if I agreed they are better on GH (and I do not) I would still want PP to retain the rights to the characters. It would be idiotic not to.

And one last time. No one said it was easy for GH to just recharacterize Easton. But it must be done. John is an OLTL character and PP rightfully wants him back. It's an inconvenience for GH, but it's not the first they've had to deal with and since they're the "saviors" of the genre they can handle it.

The fact that RH has been on GH as Todd for almost a year and the fact that they went out of the way to ensure he was Todd at the end of OLTL and no one else was, not even the portrayer that played him for 8 years...I mean, I'd say recasting Todd at this point is completely stupid, no offense to TSJ

With FV/RC's games with the press the last few months trying to keep things secret, I wouldn't be surprised if ME saying he was out on the 8th wasn't some kind of game they were trying to play for PP while all along intending on keeping ME onscreen as Caleb. If ABC and PP really are trying to one-up each other it could be just there way to try and screw over PP by keeping ME so he can't be John at OL.

As others have said, I wish the backstage goings-on with shows were actual "reality shows" airing. Y&R with all the cast egos. Days with all the constant changes and occasional actor feuds Alfonso-Chappell. I'd love it.

I'm very anxious to check out the new OL. (I was never really a fan of AMC). However, I don't expect this version to be OL. I understand it is a reboot not a continuation and I'm trying to keep that in mind and give them the benefit of the doubt. It will be great to see some of the actors/characters back on tho.

I'm still optimistic that PP is waiting to announce more of the cast until Susan Lucci starts doing press Devious Maids in a few weeks. I just don't believe she wouldn't be involved at all, or Michael Knight for that matter.

Yup, and it would be easy to explain away the last few months/weeks of OLTL as just Alison Perkin's crazy story she was spinning at the end and TSJ is actually Todd.
