HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

I don't understand why they arent announcing the writer for AMC if they're good and they're writing. Why not get people talking and give us an idea of whats going on? It leads me to believe either they didn't get who they really wanted, or they got someone controversial with fans. It's also possible they're having trouble getting cast signed.

If Sarah Brown ever joined OLTL/AMC, I wouldn't be shocked one bit. It's working on a show outside of LA that I'd be surprised at (I know, sounds contradictory).

They are further along in their assembling the OLTL writing team (which isn't done) then they are with AMC.

I think it is kind of ridiculous. I understand in some cases the need to keep it quiet, but if the rumors are out there, Prospect Park should just announce it already. Hope someone takes pity on us and leaks their news themselves like some people involved with the shows.

I thought you had forgotten AMC... tongue.png

Ditto.

Yeah, for someone who has "never loved" AMC and has "forgot" the show, he/she sure talks a lot about it.

Anyway....the only confirmed cast members from AMC that I'm not too fond of are TK and JV. The rest are alright - especially excited about Jill Larson.

I liked Lindsay Hartley better with MEK than Cady McClain.... by the end, anyway.

Now if I thought you were attacking me, I'd of kicked your ass. LOL. But I don't like fighting as it doesn't solve anything. Believe me though, if you're frustrated imagine me knowing crap and not being able to say it. The only way I can at least feel good about knowing something is to tease it. Otherwise, I'll scream and shoot my mouth off. Can't do that or I'd be out of the business faster than Digest can say "Your #1 Soap Opera Source" (or whatever that thing says).

Let the fur fly....LOL

Yeah he's written a lot of breakdown and associate HW work, so it can be hard to tell, but it might be interesting to see what he can do as a HW on the show wink.png

I think so, too. Not only has he was worked with Agnes Nixon at ALL MY CHILDREN, but he's also worked with Bill Bell and Kay Alden at Y&R. Plus, James Harmon Brown and Barbara Esensten wanted him very much to join their staff at GUIDING LIGHT, and I think he did, too.

If there is a co-HW for AMC the only friend of Marley McP's that I could get excited about is Nancy Williams Watt.

I don't see why PP needs to announce the HWs just because the fans want the info now. Maybe they are still finalizing things for another person to be co-HW. There isn't always some big, secret scandal going on.

I don't trust Nancy Williams Watt to be good at HW'ing. She attempted to do just that with Douglas Anderson at GL and they were awful.

Oh didn't know what. I thought she'd only been a AHW there. Never mind then.

Or maybe it's just a matter of letting the lawyers work their business.

Hrm sounds like he wouldn't be a bad possibility ;) ;)

To be fair, though, GUIDING LIGHT itself was not in a good place then (1995?), with then-EP Jill Farren Phelps, then-CBSD VP Lucy Johnson and higher-ups at P&G battling constantly over the show's direction. Anderson/Watt's major story, the 5th Street Fire, held some promise, but it's possible that network/sponsor interference sabotaged much of what they had attempted to do.

We all know he's handsome. Let's just hope he's had some acting lessons since the end of OLTL on ABC.
