HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Opal also has had heart issues so Zack can shoot people and be like "Keep him alive I need his heart" again.

They say more deals will be coming through in the next few days. Obviously they haven't announced the new Matthew, Destiny or the one or two other new characters so I'm sure AMC will have more cast announcements soon. Now that Thorsten is onboard, I can almost guarantee Alicia will appear on recurring status. I think AMC will have a larger recurring cast than contract.

Side note: I wonder if Susan Haskell has been approached to rejoin OLTL. I'm sure she's bitter about how her character went out but she could revert that in a way. But honestly, I'd expect her and Thorsten to both come to OLTL together and obviously Thorsten's main priority is AMC so I could see why it might not work out.

I'm honestly surprised Cady McClain and Michael E. Knight aren't on the AMC list. I thought they'd be two of the first to sign up.

I guess we'll have to see who else gets announced in the next few days.

I could do without Cady. But, without MEK. AMC's not going to get my viewership at all.

Also. Without Tad and Erica. What the !@#$%^&*] is Opal going to even do on canvas. Make Angie's weaves at the Glamarama?

I'd leave Marty out of it. While crazy Marty was fun to watch (at first) they took her character too far

LOVING is worse than the red-headed stepchild. LOVING is the child who got locked up in the attic after being caught setting kittens on fire with a book of matches.

From what I saw of Loving I actually kind of liked it.

All those soaps in the 12:30 time slot never really did much though in the way of ratings. Ryan's Hope (or, as I call it. "Ryan's Pope"), Loving, The City, and Port Charles got dismal ratings and most affiliates pulled them off their stations before the end of their runs.

Port Charles was the only one that could have been viable. Had it started at 4PM after GH (Instead of a talk show being there), if there were no vampires, and if a huge supercouple besides K&L were transferred over there too. Like Sonny and Brenda. Or, since it revolved around the hospital at first. They could have moved Alan and Monica Q. on there.
