HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

But then there's the temptation to bring back the lookalike schoolteacher that Cristian met in David Fumero's last episode. I don't know you, but I don't think I can take the revelation that Viki had triplets.

I agree that the Evanses and the Buchanans would do everything to ensure that Drew was taken care of. They would never leave Destiny cash-strapped and desperate. And there's no way that Nora, Matthew's liberal lawyer mother, would ever allow her punk son to financially fake on his child's mother. While I do feel that it's in character for Destiny to have the spunk to be an independent mother who is determined to make it on her own for herself and her child, I do not think it's in character for her to seek the financial help of an older man before she tried to just get herself a damn job.

That said, having a sugar daddy, or daddies, is not the same as turning tricks. While I think it's OOC for her to choose such a salacious-sounding site (though it certainly makes what she's doing here more specific), she's basically doing what many young women do on more legitimate sounding dating sites... connecting with older, financially secure men to date/marry who will financially provide for them. I don't think she's screwing dudes and getting crisp Benjamins left on the night stand. Women can get a lot out of men with the mere suggestion that sex is a possibility.

It's not unheard of with certain hook up sites for gay men either... SO it's not quite the same as hooking (arguably it could be said it is, but I think many women--especially younger--don't see the hardm in it).

Yes maybe people were told later not to say anything after the early leaks. But seriously I appreciated those and if they weren't supposed to spill, well that's their fault for not telling them to keep quiet.

I don't think he's going to be on it much and with AMC filming in CT it's practically in his backyard, he lives in CT from what I understand.

I think Lish will sign on at some point, maybe recurring though

Yeah while they show TK in the SMash preview, I think he was one of the many actors they've changed and he'll just be there to wrap up story (it looked like he was in jail).

About fifty of which contain actual, useful, on-topic information.

The AMC cast is weak but I will watch simply because of Jill Larson.

Of course I will be watching OLTL. I'm thrilled that Rama and Vimal are involved but I was sold as soon as I read the names Erika Slezak, Robin Strasser, Melissa Archer and Andrew Trischitta!

UPDATE

Prospect Park today announced an initial listing of writers, producers and cast members who have signed on for the online reboots of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live.” The company has formally announced Susie Bedsow Horgan and Thom Racina as head writers of “OLTL.” Thorsten Kaye and Jill Larson bring the “AMC” cast count to 7 stars signed. “OLTL” adds Erika Slezak, Tuc Watkins, Kassie DePaiva, Florencia Lozano, Melissa Archer, Hillary B. Smith, Kelley Missal, Josh Kelly andAndrew Trischitta, who join previously signed Robert S. Woods, Robin Strasserand Jerry verDorn. With the exception of Strasser, Woods, Smith and Watkins, Prospect Park has secured most of the actors signed on during the first round of plans to reboot the soaps back in 2011.

Melissa Archer tweeted that she's so excited

Awww I gotta admit I like when AT tweets Kassie and calls her mom happy.png

Such huge news! I can't see AMC having very complex storylines with such a small cast. SURELY there will be more involved...at least I hope. I am definitely shocked to not see MIchael E. Knight or Cady McClain. I think Alicia and possibly Susan, Cam and Rebecca will be recurring. Notice that they don't have a recurring cast section.

We knew the OLTL list would essentially be the same. SO relieved to see so many familiar actors assuming their roles again. My heart is full. wub.png

EDIT: No John McBain. Hmm...interested to see what will happen there.

After Marlene McPherson disappears somewhere near the LaBrea tar pits, the actors at AMC will collaborate on writing the show. What could go wrong?
