Why would Valentini lie about that? PP was the reason they couldn't use Blair full time either, Kassie even said as much

Can you talk about the situation with the former “One Life to Live” characters who are on “General Hospital”? Can Prospect Park demand the return of Todd and John and force you to write them off?

I can’t really talk about that because there’s a lot of legalese involved in that. But everything’s going to work out. I know it’s all going to be great.

Prospect Park owns the license for use of OLTL's characters. ABC was allowed as licenser to use Todd, John, Blair and Starr however they chose, but on a somewhat limited basis, due to Prospect Park's decision to not move forward with AMC/OLTL online the first time. Now that things are moving forward again, ABC and PP have to come to an agreement regarding the use of these characters on "General Hospital," which is what Frank is actually referring to.

Prospect Park will likely not get Starr or Todd as Roger Howarth and Kristen Alderson were never interested in moving to the online version and their contracts are with ABC itself, but John may move back to Llanview as Michael Easton was willing to do so the first go round. If Prospect Park does get Todd and Starr, it will NOT be with Roger and/or Kristen in the roles, which is clearly going to have to happen or else it wouldn't work. I'm sure ABC will allow the actors to film scenes as it pertains to story though for OLTL's continuation, but the characters will definitely remain on GH with those actors in the roles.

Okay with Marlene McPherson I don't think she get a real chance at DAYS. MarDAR won their first emmy and DAYS first emmy ever for writing. I thought they were better than Tomlin/Whitesell who has been so boring. The show was more watchable and I think Marlene never got a really fair shake at the show. Marlene was very highly regarded by Jim Reilly and she would be maybe good with a different co-head writer assisting her with the project.

If Marlene indeed has the AMC job, I'm excited. While I do expect "network" interference for these writers and producers, I expect much more leeway since its a startup. Anything goes is the idea as you want to make as big of an impact as you can beyond just name recognition. From my talks with Marlene, she knows what she's doing.

Marlene's DAYS was indeed boring.

I'm open to her at AMC, without any so-called interference (which I believe NBC probably did interfere), but I'd be a lot more comfortable if they could find someone with AMC history who's a little more trusted with the show.

OLTL HOPEFULLY struck gold with Thom and Susan. I can't wait to see what they do. Like someone else said, it's rare for lightning to strike twice but I feel very comfortable knowing they are writing. However, I remember being really happy that Malone was returning back in the day too.
