HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

I wonder how they'll try to handle the smaller cast and retool these shows. Especially OLTL with the GH connections.

IF, and that's a really big if, this somehow gets off the ground (personally I don't think it will), I think OLTL is still a sunken ship and AMC will be the one to come back. All for the simple reason that AMC has the most readily available cast. The OLTL cast is now divided between LA & NYC, wheras the AMC cast has all pretty much remained in LA, with just the veterans being back on the East Coast.

Oh I'm sure MAB would be thrilled to get a writing position at AMC. Seeing as 90% of her casting choices came from that soap. Chipmunks and old TMC movies, get ready!

I don't think it's about cast where they live, but how many have moved on, more of the AMC cast have moved on in general. It seems alot of the OLTL'ers have as well. Do we really want AMC with the Carey twits

Uhm noo thanks, cause this means GH would either get Guza or McTrash back, I'll pass.

I'd rather have their newbies, than the drab 4 for decades on end. Thanks anyways

We still have 3 of the 4. With flop new characters. Not a big difference.

Guza probably won't ever be back, unless he took a big pay cut.

While the Deadline report on Prospect Park's renewed plans to bring One Live to Live and All My Children back via the web mentions the production company having secured pacts with the Directors Guild of America (DGA) and actors union SAG-AFTRA, I'm hearing PP might bypass the entertainment industry's other crucial union, the Writers Guild of America (WGA).

"They're looking to hire Fi-Core writers," says an insider. "That way they don't have to negotiate with the WGA or deal with Guild minimums."

Apparently, PP has been asking around about the availability of several scribes who have financial core status with the WGA— including a pair currently helming a daytime drama. Keep checking back with Daytime Confidential as this story develops!

I guess that would be Higley (not someone heading a daytime drama now, I just mean didn't she go fi-core with DAYS).

Yeah but their airtime has reduced significantly, so to me that's the big difference.

Isn't this exactly where they were before? Trying to screw over a union? Makes me wonder if this mention is about putting a little public pressure on the guild.

Ugh. I said I wasn't going down this rabbit hole again and I won't. I'm with MrQuartermaine. Show us that you've got something more than promises.

(But shall we start the betting on who will sign and who won't? laugh.png )

The fi-core thing just proves they've learned nothing.

I just hope ABC wins this cheap little fight. I never thought I'd be saying that.

The Fi-Core thing should've been expected. Y&R has had a Fi-Core HW for what? Four years? And isn't Gary Tomlin at DAYS Fi-Core? So is Kay Alden. I'd love if we found out they got someone like Kay Alden to write one of these soaps. She's talented and could do a good job reinventing one of them.

Back during PP I: A New Hope the thing that killed it for me was the thought that RC/FV would have anything to do with AMC. I hope that they really are locked in to GH. (Sorry GH fans!)

Foul! A cyber slap is so appropriate here, but I don't know how...

Tomlin wrote OLTL during the strike.
