December 14, 201213 yr Member Who the hell shoots up an elementary school? http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2012/12/14/school-shooting-connecticut/1769367/ All those parents that sent their kids to school and now they aren't coming back. And Christmas is right around the corner.
December 14, 201213 yr Member They're saying that it's all Kindergarteners dead. This really has me bawling. I have a nephew that's that age.
December 14, 201213 yr Member I feel sick to my stomach right now. I work at an elementary school and there are no words for this. I can't imagine 18 of the kids I work with every day getting shot and killed. Just disgusting. I want to cry.
December 14, 201213 yr Member Is it true it's a former student, and his father? That this was taken out on those little kids is just something unimaginable. The media gives so much attention to these murderers that it just inspires similar insanity and carnage - the stakes keep getting higher and higher and higher.

This is absolutely disgusting and there are no words. Gun control needs to be tightened more than ever before.

December 14, 201213 yr Member So sad. I'm sick to my stomach. Rosie O'Donnell is probably having a meltdown right now as she did after Columbine.
December 14, 201213 yr Member Apparently there was also a huge assault against children in China. http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/12/14/15901085-villager-slashes-22-kids-with-knife-at-elementary-school-gates-in-china?lite
December 14, 201213 yr Member Ugh. What is going on today? Children aren't even safe in their schools. So depressing.
December 14, 201213 yr Member I'll never understand if someone is so mad that they have to go after children. Edited December 14, 201213 yr by reallyhateskateonlost

I agree that when you hear stories like this it seems like it's an attempt to "out do" the previous shooting. Columbine, VA Tech, DarkNight massacre, etc when first reported is always "deadly shooting" "worst in US history" and then the next crazy tries to get top billing by being even more maniacal than his predecessors and the media goes insane with 24/7 coverage repeating the exact thing over and over to sensationalize the tragedy. It's a horrible world we live in where literally anything can trigger someone off and they go on a mass rampage on unsuspecting victims who were just really unfortunate to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. December 14, 201213 yr Member They weren't even before then, but Columbine was the first to get the attention. The worst is that nothing changes. It just gets worse. Since gun control laws will not change and I don't think they would do much to help at this point anyway, I wish the media would take steps to stop turning this all into a game.
December 14, 201213 yr Member There was a school shooting here in KY before Columbine. It happened in Paducah. (Which is in Western KY, I'm in Central) But, I remember it. It was around 1997/1998.
December 14, 201213 yr Member Between the Portland mall shooting, the knife attack in China and now this I'm beginning to wonder if some crazy people are buying in to this Mayan calendar "end of the world" craziness.
