(also loved the two alternating shots of her in the "signature" credits ca. 2002)

-Adam and Stuart in the double frame from "Falling Pictures" (actually, I loved the whole frame sequence before the pictures started falling)

(all of the variations of Joan's shot in the credits were great, but this one is perhaps the most iconic)

-Roger (Michael Zaslow) in his tux in GL's Hold on to Love opening

-From the same opening, the final shot of Harley (Beth Ehlers) doing her sexy bop across the dance floor (I also liked the shot of Marcy Walker as Tangie, sipping her champagne, that would later replace Beth's shot... interesting how they'd later be connected with the whole Liza Colby replacement debacle)

-Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) in the pewter dress in the old B&B opening

The dog kept running though.

That dog running behind Cord was the best freaking part of that opening.

That and the hilariously cheesy Peabo Bryson song.

I thought of another clip I loved when I was younger. Annie Parisse's (the 1st Julia) on ATWT's shot during the white opening. She had the best one there. IMO.

About the fountain, as the opening continued to get updated, the animated backgrounds ceased. The fountain running water was now a still, as was the golfer swinging her club. The dog kept running though.

Knots Landing Season 9 had good opening shots.

I might be in the minority but I loved the shots in AW's 96-99 opening (and the opening itself. . .). A lot of hair tossing and groping (from Lorna and Gabe) but the shots were great minus a few *coughs* Joe smothering Paulina shot (as he did as a character) *coughs*

I loved that opening. And, the one before it (The opening with the Crystal Gayle song)

When I was a young laddie. Every time the AW opening came on I was like....This is my cue to stop playing with my tea set and avert my eyes to the tv NOW!

Yeah, even though it was blatantly inspired by er, I thought it was a very good, fitting opening for AW. I especially loved the closing version of the theme which had a lot of heart and soul imho, it was almost mournful sounding which seemed oddly apt after the cast shot on a cold evening in Brooklyn and approached cancellation.

I thought it was very foolish to do an opening when you could not afford to update it properly. That opening by the last two years could have just shown Victoria Wyndham, then cut to the Jeffersons credits.

It just reeked of desperation to me. I am the first one to call out soaps for failing to modernize but you can modernize without being ridiculous. Look at the current Days opening or the Y&R porn opening for examples of modernizing without looking like gigantic fake knockers.
