I don't necessarily agree with that. I feel like the directions of soap stories have proven time and time again that you don't always know everything that you think you know about where a story is going or the reasoning behind it.

How is it not a mess? I dont see how anyone can look on screen and not cringe at whats been done to the character

Glad to see Skye and Ned but mad they're the only returns. In the real world, people like Brook, Dillon, Maya and Lois would be there.
