What happened to Victoria Rowell on Y&R?

Um, we were talking about the Trayvon nonsense that you brought up, not Y&R

You'll be talking about whatever she can twist and contort in order to "prove" her fight. It's no coincidence that she only shows up here at SON every time VR has a meltdown. She's a [!@#$%^&*] stirrer, and it's not worth the argument!

just go to the off topic section and search for Trayvon

This dude, alphanguy74? His argument is incredibly ignorant.

Anyone who constantly screams "Y&R IS RACIST AND TOXIC! IT'S THE WORST PLACE EVER! THEY HATE AFRICAN AMERICANS" and then begs, grovels and pleads to be re-hired is insane. Not to mention it completely invalidates her initial point. Why would you beg to work in a place that you claim is so toxic?

Haven't you heard? Because she "lurves" the show. So why did she quit? No response.

We were complaining about TA winning the NAACP award when she hasn't had a damn story and is barley on Y&R. They were other deserving women in the category that the award could've and should've gone to. I would've omitted her for one of the women of color they left out of the category.

The NAACP nominates the few actors of color that Daytime employs.

If they're nominating dayplayers & extras that's a reflection of the industry not the NAACP itself.

You can love a character and the audience yet hate the work environment...

there are actually contract players that seem to get ignored every year while dayplayers get nominated. The NAACP nomination selection never makes any sense

But if you hate the work environment, why beg pathetically to return? She's not hurting for money, last I heard. So how bad could it really be if she's all but storming the gates to get back in?

I adore your signature but Queen Nene should have been in the center not the table-flippah!

Go back and look at the list. There were a few that weren't nominated that actually had material in favor of those that didn't.

One glaring actress missing from the list was Renee Jones.

Has anyone looked at the nomination process?

Every year SON complained about Renee Jones not being nominated but if she didn't submit herself then she can't win.

Debbi's won twice, Darnell Williams, Bryton James, Cornelius Smith & Tracey Ross have all won at least once & Kristoff has eight so it's not as if contract players are being totally overshadowed.

People submit themselves for this award? I thought it was a comitee going through all the actors of color and selecting nominees. That just makes that award show even less credible than it already was in my eyes.

Perhaps she's hopeful that raising these concerns will change the environment? I'm not sure what she wants (I'm not sure she knows what she wants at this point) but I can understand loving your work and hating where you work. I've done it before.

but she's made it virtually unlikely that they would ever hire her back. They'd be asking for trouble if they brought her back into the building and frankly considering her rants since she's left, she isn't worth the hassle. Y&R doesn't need her and every time she takes to Twitter she does nothing but reinforce why that's the case

What irks me is that if VR really cared, she there were so many things she could have done to improve diversity in Daytime while she was at Y&R. She could have worked with the NAACP to develop a program to give people of color the skills to be writers, producers, technicians, etc. With that type of program including an internship at Sony/CBS, she could have opened so many doors. Even now, she could do probably do something like this or start a foundation to support young actors of color. Instead, she rants and raves on Twitter.
