Eve Donovan didn't exactly become a prostitute willingly, but she did it at first for money and because she felt she owed it to Nick. Even after she revealed she was Shane's daughter and moved in with him and Kim, she turned some tricks and admitted that she did it because it made her feel wanted and fulfilled. So there was some aspect of her doing it voluntarily.

There was another teen prostitute at that time, Sasha, who worked for Nick willingly.

Also, the show never really explored why Kim became a prostitute when she was living in Europe, but early on, it seemed like money was as much a factor as anything else. She could not make ends meet as a photographer, so she turned to prostitution.

It would be a great story! But religion is hardly ever mentioned on soaps probably so as to not offend. The Bradys on Days are clearly Catholic, Nora on OLTL was Jewish but everyone else just seems to be non-denominational Christians. I can't think of any Mormons, Buddhists, or atheists. The only Muslim was that girl on ATWT who was involved with Luke and Noah a few years ago.

This has been hinted at a few times, sometimes with guest characters. Y&R had a story about an apartment building for senior citizens that Christine Blair investigated, as the residents were being mistreated. Ryan's Hope had a story early on where nursing home residents were being mistreated, and when they fell or got sick, weren't even taken to the hospital. One woman died.

I think when DAYS decided to bring Victor back from the care home, Vivian realized he was being doped up, and helped get him out.

Eve seems like a very unique character for a soap.

Involuntary celibacy. A character we've watched from birth (or at least adolescence) never gets into a relationship, never has anything resembling a love interest, never loses his/her virginity, never gets kissed, etc. One day, the character is 30 years old and wondering where the time went. The story charts his/her efforts to meet and connect with someone.

Hoarding. I feel like a (good) soap could do an amazing job with a hoarding story, slowly having the junk build and build over years until the people around the hoarding feel it's time to take action.

An adult character on the Autism spectrum whose condition isn't made into comic relief or is portrayed as a complete recluse. Someone who is known and liked and has friends trying to deal with the various issues that pop up when dealing with the spectrum, and as a result how people around him/her deal with it.

I would love that. If done properly, it'd be very funny, and very poignant as well.

Come to think of it, ONE LIFE TO LIVE approached this idea with Miles Laurence. However, since it ended with him popping his cherry with a prostitute, I think, I don't call that a "success."

    • This is so confusing. So will CBS and P.Plus just be a day ahead for the rest of the episodes the whole week?
    • April 15, 1993 is when they first meet.
    • Does anyone know the air date when Victoria & Cole first meet? Was there a scene when Victoria was sitting on Cole's lap and kissed him? If so, does anyone know the air date?
    • When is the last time Bridget & Deacon scene happened?
    • Surely that was a joke. Why would anyone seriously ask if Dani had any rooms besides having a bedroom? MOST of the time when we see her, she's in that open, airy, white room with her kitchen far stage left & there's an island & a love seat.  I have meant to post to say how taken I was with Eva last Thursday. You don't know it but I have  not really gotten into either Eva or Leslie/Sheila/Anna/Dana/Mom in the same ways or degrees most of y'all have.  With "Many Names" I get that it's quite a challenge to play that evil & that crazy without becoming cartoonish & she hasn't, so there is that. But, I do not see layers or nuance. I also do not fault the actress. If the gray tones are not there on the page, I don't expect to see them ripped out of thin air. With Eva there were so many questions. Now most have been answered.
    • No kidding. It’s amazing to me that CBS as messy as it was for the 97-98 season landed at #2 that year thanks to Sunday nights, 1/2 of the Monday night lineup, Diagnosis Murder on Thursdays, and oddly the Saturday night line-up. I think CBS was saved by the Winter Olympics not to mention ABC had gotten even messier than CBS’ mess.  CBS came out a more solid for #2 for the 98-99 season but was still very uneven overall. Outside of Sundays the rest of the network’s hits were on checkerboard split between Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.    Had it not been for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire fever I’d say CBS probably would’ve been at #2 for the 99-00 season as well, very much still uneven but of course Survivor and CSI were on the horizon. (*There’s some evidence that CBS may have barely eked out a win for #2 for the 96-97 season but that season’s mess sure doesn’t feel that way)
    • By request, I present to you "Abbott Communications".
    • Meh, I'm a bit tipsy after coming from a Mother's Day festivity. I should have posted a picture of her and Andre in her little great room.
    • Their question was does she only have a bedroom lol
