We've had a dozen threads but never one collective thread. And what good timing, starting this AFTER the season just went on hiatus. I was still so depressed about the last episode I decided to start this.

The obsession of my youth, a show I couldn't actually believe came back. I've always had slightly mixed emotions on the return but when it's good it gets right to your heart more than almost anything else in entertainment can. And when the right companion comes along, I become very attached (see my breaking my 3 and a half year avatar allergy).

I wish Amy and Rory had been able to just leave of their own volition, but barring that, the last scenes were heartbreaking and harrowingly acted by everyone involved, especially underrated Matt Smith, probably the actor who has best captured the Doctor's spirit since the 70s.

I loved Jenna Louise Coleman on Emmerdale and her first episode showed promise. I do wonder how they will bring that character back. If it's the same characters, before her death, then the Doctor will have to spend all his time not telling her or River he saw them die. Awkward.

And then Doctor Who fandom always has first rate vids. For example:

Not 106. I'm actually kind of annoyed about that report going so far in the news, because people are already saying they will feel let down if it's just a small amount of episodes. Even one episode is huge. And most likely the only way we will keep getting these is if we show support (as in this Itunes plan that is supposedly going to happen), instead of saying it's not good enough.

The rumor is that they're going to be releasing 9 episodes, almost the entirety of Enemy of the World and Web of Fear (one episode of Web of Fear is still missing, according to this rumor), to itunes, to sell. And down the line they may also have the last episode of the Tenth Planet.

Deborah Watling and Frazer Hines will be at this announcement, which makes it more likely that this is going to be about Web of Fear and Enemy of the World.

(watch that interview please)

Short clips from Web of Fear and Enemy of the World.

Available now on itunes and next month on DVD. Tell your friends and family who are as pathetic as I am!

Man, I can remember the recons with the telecine stills of those scenes and the audio running over them, but seeing it in motion - wow. I never thought I'd see them.

These are both absolute classic stories, and cornerstones of the Patrick Troughton era.

I've always wanted to see more of this time because Victoria is such a unique companion, probably the only time the show managed to have a young female companion who was somewhat quaint and learning to cope, a daughter and sister figure (they also had this with Nyssa but it didn't work quite as well). This is also the only time the Doctor had two companions from the distant past (this led to a scene in Enemy where neither of them knew what a helicopter was).

And they're so young and full of such energy.

Mark Gatiss said at the press thing that Web of Fear was the ultimate Doctor Who story and the one he'd been waiting most of his life to get to see.

I don't have itunes but I'm going to get it to buy some of these. I know some are waiting for the DVD, but I'm not sure if I want that now, as it probably won't have any extra features. I'm sure that will be rereleased a few dozen times with more features.

There are rumors there might be more down the line. I hope so, but whether there are or not, this is such a huge find.

DVD covers.

Deborah Watling saying how wonderful it is to get to see her father again gave me such bittersweet feelings.

I'm just happy that more were found while these actors are still with us. You could see how delighted Frazer and Deborah were.

Is this available online or just in the print edition?

Today the ComicCon trailer was leaked by a BBC affiliated station a day early. They've been pulling it down everywhere.

He's a Doctor. But probably not the one you expected.

Oh, my God!

OH MY GOD!!

PAUL MCGANN!!!

I just watched The Movie last night!

Wait, wasn't he interviewing a few months back complaining about not being invited for the anniversary festivities?

Woo Hoo McGann! That was great. Nice surprise and it came out on his birthday.

I think Steven Moffat has finally broken the Internet. The response I've seen to The Night of the Doctor is OVERWHELMINGLY positive. I'm a big fan of the Moff, but he tends to be something of a base-breaker when it comes to fan response.

Has McGann commented yet?
