Administrator Toups Posted September 22, 2012 Author Administrator Share Posted September 22, 2012 Nobody lied. The 2.5 last Monday was for the overnight ratings of only the 65 metered markets.
Members OLTL_fan
I'm glad B&B is up a lot year to year.
Members ChitHappens
Overnight? 65 metered markets? Since when does the show air overnight?
Members rhinohide
Which should finally prove, once and for all, that online support means absolutely nothing. None of the CBS soaps have the kind of online activity that ABC soaps always had. Hell! the two canceled ABC soaps have almost as much online activity as the active CBS soaps. It means nothing. Members frequentsoapfan
Yeah definitely like I never thought lots of online support meant so and so soap was better. If that was the case. DAYS and GH would have higher ratings.
Members DRW50
GH continues to be focused on unlikeable and dull characters. They decided to bring over three people who never did anything for OLTL's ratings, and hype them as stars. Huffing and puffing from Daytime Confidential doesn't equal viewers. Members sheilaforever
Nice to see that most shows are up in total viewers from a year ago. I think this is the second or thrid week in a row. They need all the good signs they can get as that they are able to mantain an audience... Members JellicleCat
Daytime Confidential, like the soaps it's covering, has suffered a great drop in quality over the years. I liked it a lot in the beginning, during the Luke & Lisa era, but then they had cast changes, and when it became the Jamey Giddens show I just tuned out. Members rhinohide
Jamey and Jillian compete for the most outrageous tweets. I like them both and find them entertaining. But it can become a bit much. And I can't with their podcasts.
Members sungrey
An "overnight" rating from Nielsen is essentially an immediate snapshot of how the show did overall, 18-49, 18-34, etc. 65 metered markets is just a fancy way of saying top 65 markets or markets with Nielsen households in them. Members Gray Bunny
I agree. I got sucked into this triangle and I like it. Maybe it's because I haven't seen it play out since beat one. But they're milking this triangle for all it's worth and doing a good job of it. It's very Brooke/Ridge/Taylor, The Next Generation. Members edgeofnik
B&B last Friday was pre-empted in some markets due to return of bodies from Libya. Don't know how many were impacted, but we had two or three minutes and CBS was on air for rest of time period. B&B is the most remarkable revival during the past - I don't know how many years. Bell was wise to start throwing in other pieces to the story (Thomas) and bringing that triangle along (Rick/Caroline). I was clamoring for another player to be brought in (actually for Steffy), but this new turn has promise. These six characters can do a lot for the show. I just want my lucky 7 to come back soon - Amber - and really shake things up!
Members EastMA2
Keeping a positive spin here, at least GH kept it's audience in their timeslot move. And GH did MUCH better than The Revolution and GAA in the 2 pm timeslot.
