Conn is very unlikeable and fake onscreen. That probably influences opinion of her, along with some of her or her people's offputting commentary in interviews. She may be a living saint in real life, for all I know, but I thought she was a huge albatross to ATWT and any show unfortunate enough to have her.

As DeeDee would say...pretty much....she was one reason ATWT was not fun for me to watch...she should have been given her walking papers...the only time she was tolerable was when Mama Lyla showed up...she should have been bitch slapped by Lyla for her whoring around....LOL...funny how life imitates art...or is it the other way around...lol

To me this sounds like the kind of criticism Eileen Fulton faced way back when. Conn played a perfect villain during the endless Rose/Lily saga. When they decided to make her a heroine but refused to back it up with writing I refuse to blame her.

I blame her mostly because she was so totally unsuited to a role which required anything beyond cold bitchery. That may not be what she is in real life, but onscreen it was glaring and yet somehow continued year after year.

I have problems with how the Peck-sters handled themselves when they decided to make their coupledom public. It came to light in the wake of Peck's firing when he accused P&G of firing him for it (and a co-star of engineering it.) Whether or not she's a saint, she tied herself to a first-class jerk who (IMO) used his "friendship" with Nelson Branco to try and end-around on TPTB.

You lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

And while no one expects someone to stay in a bad marriage, there's a dignified way to handle the end of it---and it seems neither Conn or Peck met the "smell test" on that.

I don't get why people are so hung up about it and care to the point where they hate or seriously dislike them over their love life even now long after the fact

Are people's lives really that lacking that they have to find ways to soil a happy occasion for a couple that they do not, and will not, ever know personally?

I'm happy for her. Loved Katie/Simon back in the day and loved her on OLTL. Wish her the best! :)

Oh and congrats to Peck too... lol

"Care" or "hung up" about it? Or simply not forgetting how the relationship began in light of the news?

People gossip. Granted, Conn-Columbino/Peck are no Liz/Dick....but it's not like this is the first scandal ever dissected and rehashed at SON.

How is this "soiling" the occasion? Do they base their happiness on a message board? I doubt it. I don't especially care about their personal lives. As long as she's not on my TV, great. I wish them the best.

Some people still say disparaging remarks about GL's Wendy Moniz and Frank Grillo, too. And they've been happily married with children for years. Don't hate. Chappell and Sabatino started the same way too, didn't they? And dozens of others...

well yeah. With the way people go in on them hard, you'd have thought that Peck had personally cheated on his haters and ditto for Conn. People certainly act personally offended by them and feel the need to bash them as people when the oppurtunity presents itself and that goes beyond hating the characters they played. A baby is a happy occasion so congrats to them
