Thanks all...would love to have taken over the writing for GL post Peapack...named it "Bizzaro GL," so not to mistake it with the quality and class that once was, and given Passions a run for the money to see how many WTF moments I can't get in before the show was yanked...(hey, if you cant go for quality go for fun, balls out trash...) Would love to see Zimmer say the lines, as only Zimmer could say "Ma, babies' daddy is a HOMA-sex-ual who has been humping my other baby, who has been humpin' my" I thought he was my son but I just didnt care enough to find out, cause I was busy or somethin'" who was also bein' humped by my babies' daddy! Lord, can someone in this hospital bring me a case of Pringles (product placement 25 bucks please) and some malt liquor or are all the orderlies out geting screwin' by my husband or son???"

I think Mike and Henry had great chemistry as both were good at the light comedy, and both understood the underpinings of the relationship. Also, the Mike actor is really one of the most unselfconcious "HAWWWT," guys around, he really brings that "You think I am good looking, ah shuck thank you ma'm, (or sir)" to his acting that most other guys who look half as good as he does can't possibly do. He also has an unselfconcious masculinity that lets him kind of flirt with another guy in a scene, and we still know the character is straight.

DAM was smoking hot and I really did think (hope) that they were going to make him the first gay villian on a soap (or first male bitch god.) His, "Southern Fried Venus," line was spewed with such bitchiness, and I loved the scene where Carmen broke into his apartment and looking at his tapes (he had the tape of Phillip and Betch screwing or something) says, with a raised eyebrow "Edmund, I wonder just WHAT kind of videos you like to watch!"

Grillo never did crap for me, too much grease in the hair, too much roided outness and way, way too much tanning going on there. He woulda made a good Santos tho"Michelle killed my brudda!"

Have to add, and I guess it is a quilty pleasure since no one agrees with me, but I LIKED Rick and Harley and MOL and BE's chemistry. He didn't act like such a goofball loser with her and she didn't act like the sharp, bitchy shrew she could be a times, and became fulltime with Goldin. They didnt have "HAWWT," chemistry but they had a nice quiet stable chemistry of two middle aged friends who are marrying for companionship not lust.

I don't necessarily agree with everything you said, but I sure as hell love the way you said it!

P.S. A bizarro GL would've been must-see-TV :P

    • This whole Sonny and Leo story is an example of something where I think the idea was great, but the execution of it poor.  I could totally get into Sonny coming back to town and seeking revenge on Leo for what he did years ago. I was fine with the idea of Sonny being obsessed about it to the point it might start harming his marriage, but one the first major mistakes was when it came down to blowing apart Leo and Craig, they had Sonny go MIA and it was Chad that showed up at the wedding. Should have been Sonny.  Then the current phase, Leo making an enemies list and seeing counter revenge, once again, sounds like a good idea that I'd be interested in seeing, but his revenge against Sonny was both problematic and stupid.  First, while I'm fairly certain no sex actually took place, drugging someone, stripping them naked, then sending pictures to a gossip site, is both assault and revenge porn. Unless you are going to treat it as such and write it in a serious way, those kinds of plots need to be left in the past. They aren't acceptable in 2022.  It's also dumb. What's Leo's aim? Sonny already figured out he was drugged, which I'm sure he'll tell Will, so Will is likely to only believe Leo's story in the Intruder for maybe all of 5 minutes. There's a million other better or interesting things they could have had Leo to do Sonny.
    • Ray Liotta, RIP, They Started on Soaps                 @RealKevinConroy   Starting out in NY in 1981 I was on Another World with Ray for a year. I was 25 playing a 25 yr old detective. He was 26 playing a teenager! He was totally believable. Gone too soon RIP Ray Liotta.
    • I still have that  entire week on useless videotape, starring: Anna Stuart finally back from Hollywood! Derek Dane as the strong man! The House Of Mirrors! And Felicia, sporting the world's  worst hair extensions!
    • Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand, interviewed on Steven Colbert's show.   Interview in three parts. Watch all three parts all the way through.  It is so refreshing to see a sane government.  She talks about gun control, Covid, Ukraine, sustainability, etc.
    • Gosh, that sweet baby boy...all of the episodes surrounding the shooting have been heavy on my mind this week for obvious reasons. Shortly after Parkland, we were given some bullsh!t reactionary directives to "incorporate active shooter safety into lessons," and I just so happened to be teaching a mini-unit on Canadian history so...we might have watched both parts of "Time Stands Still" in my classes that week, complete with us breaking apart all that was wrong with Degrassi's "lockdown," including kids being locked in classrooms while other people just went in and out of the building. Sean and Ellie really were my preferred coupling. Separately, their stories were a bit more mature, then they ended up sharing an apartment as that *whispers* high school couple that lives together. Emma kinda went off the rails for a while, and I always thought she'd be better served ending up with someone who didn't go to Degrassi so that she didn't have to live up to the high standards of the righteous "cause girl" she'd been. I'm ready to start skimming through some episodes to pick up on other regular background music lol There's one little piano piece that would always play at the end of emotionally-charged scenes right before a commercial or freeze frame. It low-key sounds like the hook from Summer Breeze. It looks like they've removed most episodes from YouTube, so I can't find it.
