Members Wendy
Maybe telenovelas are the future of the soap genre here? http://www.deadline.com/2012/01/cable-notes-nick-at-nite-orders-80-episode-telenovela-own-expands-oprahs-next-chapter-to-2-nights/ ETA: Oh, boy. Just saw that JFP is producing. Jodh Griffith will be HW.
Members Ryan Chamberlain
As much as I love this idea. Isn't Nick at Nite supposed to be for old sitcoms? Ugh, all channels are becoming alike.
Members P.J.
Recipe for disaster. I can't imagine how Griffith's writing will win over Nick's core audiences---preteens and 50+.
Members DRW50
Nick at Nite and TV Land gave that up long ago.
Members Chris B
This doesn't seem like the smartest network, but I'm GLAD somebody is trying basically a daytime soap on a non-traditional network. If this is a surprise hit then soaps could be back. There's just no way I can find fault in this. I'm excited and can't wait to see how this works out. This isn't like Prospect Park, at least you have a proven network and people who know soaps are involved.
Members Ryan Chamberlain
It's supposed to be a teen soap though. Ugh. Maybe they could get Andrew Trischetta on there.
Members glatwt
im very intrigued by this but i was almost certain sony and cbs would snatch her up for Y&R!
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Well, Sony is producing this telenovella project, isn't it?
Members Juliajms
I hope we get to see some familiar faces.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Well, since Jill is involved, the cast will probably be filled with her "friends."
Members Juliajms
^ Ha! Well, better that than people I don't know.
Members DRW50
I'd take strangers over Tim Gibbs, Mark Derwin, Sonia Satra, or Kale Browne.
Members Mr. Vixen
Good thing Mark Derwin is already on a successful cable show. I hope Robin Christopher pops up on this.
Members DRW50
I hope it's successful for a long time... Robin seemed so uninterested in much beyond just quick ATM runs, I'm not sure she'd want to do more.
Members Mr. Vixen
I have to respect that she wanted to leave the business to raise her children. I don't think she came back for money. She worked for over 20 years, I'm sure she has plenty. I think she came back because she was asked.
