Kimberly McCullough’s General Hospital swan song, sad as it may be, sure is bringing back some fan-favorite blasts from the past.

On the heels of the news that Finola Hughes’ Anna will be on hand for… well, whatever fate awaits Robin that will escort the character off the canvas, TVLine has learned that Tristan Rogers (aka BDS aka Big Daddy Scorpio) is returning to the ABC daytime drama as well.

Rogers is due back on our screens in mid-February, and not for a short stint but “the foreseeable future,” I am told. And though a GH rep declines to confirm Robert is returning for Robin’s exit story… that’s where the smart money is at, amiright?

A little surprised he came back. Hopefully they will do a better job than Guza did. I guess it helps if someone does not actively hate the show and its past.

Frons leaves, Guza out, JFP out, and suddenly people return, do I sense a pattern?

This is such a reversal of fortune for longtime GH fans like myself. All through my teens, I wished that Robert and Anna would return for Robin. Now, we may have a canvas with Robert and Anna and no Robin.

How great would it be if Robert and Anna were on contract. I doubt it, seeing how even Garin said most returnees will be recurring, but a boy can wish.

Now lets get Bobbie, Sean and Tiffany back !!!

Good news. I am glad that GH put the issues in the past to do what is best for the story and the fans. Robin's final scenes will be very moving, especially if they include flashbacks of when Robin first met Robert and other important moments in the Scorpios' lives.

Watching Sharon Wyatt's final scenes as a contract player on GH, saying goodbye to her beloved Robin, makes me long for a return of Tiffany Donnelly even more (start at 6:09):

Robin was so lucky to have so many surrogate parents who stepped up to the plate when Robert and Anna could not: Sean, Tiffany, Holly, Felicia, Bobbie, Tony...

But no one has been more important than the stalwart that is her, "Uncle Mac," Scorpio. As much as I love that her parents will be back, I hope that they honour that for all intensive purposes, Mac has been the only person there for her. He is more of a father than Robert will ever be.
