This is actually true. There is no f*cking way that ABC deliberately flushed tons of money down the toilet just so they could end AMC 21 monts later. While it was clear that OLTL was left for dead way back in 2009, the plan was to keep AMC on the air for at least another five years. The only reason why this didn't happen was because the move to LA failed to produce the huge cost savings that Frons had promised. Because he screwed up so badly on this decision, Frons was fired.

Dragonflies, while the move was for naught--and although I always thought it was such an idiotic idea to begin with--it was never the intention of ABC to cancel AMC so soon.
