ALL: Non-Exits

Leslie (Angell Conwell, only remember her name because its my first name sans the extra "l") seems to be a recent example of non-exits. She was everybody's lawyer but since Avery has come on she has vanished. But once again, correct me if I am wrong because I haven't watched a whole lot lately.

That's what they usually do.

Hire Black actors, give them little to do & then fire them when they hire white actors.

Y&R treated Angell like they did Sherman Augustus & Cassius Willis.

He had a bit of a fight for Cricket with Paul after that.

Once she chose Paul Danny left GC & much later was constantly said to be on tour in Europe.

I forgot they still had to deal with Christine's decision.

I just find it so weird that such a long-running character left and wasn't given even one episode. No reaction from Phyllis that her son was going away, no goodbye to Chris, nothing. Felt kind of un-Y&R. Of course, the show had so many things going on at the time, but surely they could have afforded some scenes?

no goodbye to Chris, nothing.

He got a make up scene with Paul & Cricket which served as his exit.

SN's Phyllis wasn't happy that Danny took Daniel to Europe but there was nothing she could do since Danny had full custody.

I wish that scene was online where Danny gave her a big stuffed cricket and she was a little disturbed.

That's creepy....

anyways, how was Malcolm wriiten off in 2005 with Shemar? I know he left in September but what was the story?

Malcolm left town about the same time Lily did, and without her Malcolm felt no need to stay. Shemar's final scenes was saying goodbye to Lily after she came back from being on the run and gave her a pep talk about her future. They tried to get Moore to stay/come back quite unsuccessfully obviously because just six months later the show proceeded to move forward with Lily's paternity story anyways upon Lily's return. By that time Malcolm was off on a photo shoot in Africa or something.

Anyone remember Eli on OLTL? The HIV-positive boy that Carlotta took in back when she was involved with Hank and Cristian still lived at home? 1997 I believe....

  • Member

I do remember him. Something-Wigdor was the actor's name. After he disappeared, Marty took after an HIV-positive little girl named Paloma who also disappeared.

Jeff Wigdor played Eli. He'd previously played Ava's son JJ on Loving, I believe. I liked the idea of Carlotta taking in an HIV-positive boy with a huge chip on his shoulder, especially since this caused a lot of conflict with Cris. There are a few scenes of him on Youtube.

He disappeared in early 1998, which was after Marty had already left. Paloma, the girl she bonded with, died in fall 1995, if I remember correctly - that's one of the reasons she went on a downward spiral and ultimately fled to Ireland and met Patrick.

That's creepy....

It was more of a comic/silly type of scene.

Geoffry Wigdor was his name.

He is mentioned toward the bottom of the page: http://oltlkids.tripod.com/Kids/oltlkids5.html

I don't remember Paloma....

Oh wow, for some reason I remember Paloma as being after Eli. At any rate, the fact that the show went there twice really stood out to me at the time.

.They tried to get Moore to stay/come back quite unsuccessfully

Because Shemar was VERY unhappy with the writing.

Really? Do you know exactly what he was unhappy with?

Pretty much everything.

He spent the majority of his second run offensively harassing Drucilla, propping Lily & engaging in a weird love triangle with Samurai Chemist Porter & his estranged ex wife.

By the time Y&R was actually ready to give him something worthwhile to do (Lily's paternity) he was done (and the fact that he felt he'd "outgrown" Daytime by that point anyway certainly didn't help matters).
