I can't see ABC giving up on The Chew in just two months after investing a ton of cash into this venture. But I remember what CF said that some affiliates were looking for any excuse to take back the time slots.

It's not ABC that will give up on it with that period of time, its gonna be the affiliates who will likely move the show to odd timeslots and I can't blame them for doing that if its gonna effect their bottom line and news shows. The one thing that affiliates hate is when their local news broadcasts are effected by network shows and this is exactly what's happening in this situation.

Your affiliate may still show The Chew in the current timeslot a couple of months from now if the ratings aren't doing too much damage but there's other markets that won't be showing The Chew in that timeslot if the numbers too dangerous to keep on. There's a number of CBS affiliates that don't even show The Talk in its current timeslot but CBS is keeping it on it still airs in the markets where its doing okayish numbers in the same timeslot.

Just to be clear, when Michael Symon says that The Chew was nr. 1 in timeslot and demo last week, that was not true? (Not that I believed it but I want it confirmed by one of you guys) It bothers me that he would write that.

Looks like The Chew was rounded down in finals for its premiere episode in viewers. The show had 2,436,000 million viewers, which rounds to 2.44 million, compared to the 2.5 million ABC highly publicized. By Friday that total went down to 1,824,000...which rounded to 1.8 million. That's a loss of nearly 700,000 viewers from Monday to Friday or 25% in audience. The show had just 401,000 Women 18-49 viewers by its Friday episode and its Household # was a 1.4 (way below the 1.7 benchmark I reported).

Even more bad news for Chew....

That 1.7 we said the show had for Thursday's episode based on overnight data? Yeah, that was corrected down to a 1.5 with just 384,000 Women 18-49 viewers. That episode ironically had 200,000 more viewers than Friday's episode, but Friday's episode had just 17,000 more Women 18-49 viewers. The Chew's Monday episode was 598,000 Women 18-49 viewers, which means the show lost 197,000 Women 18-49 viewers from Monday to Friday.

Well many GH fans came back the week after the wedding. I was one of them that blacked out wedding trash that wk changed my mind for the next week. I just still mute Sam and don't like Jason and how he is with her. I love SB but hate the Frons s/l. But I think things will turn around end of this month and sweeps. I want to keep GH reg. tv.

WOW! Only a 1.7 its going downhill from here. Those ratings are horrible for The Chew!

As long as ABC is making money on this show it wont matter. It cost a fraction of what AMC did. So I bet ABC is happy with their bottom line at the moment.

Although as has been posted here, with demos like that, the affiliates are allowed to move it to a lesser timeslot--which is NOT good for ABC.

I don't know how much money ABC is making at this point, with ever falling ratings. I doubt Mario Batalli and friends come too cheap.
