Luke and Robert visit Benny the fence in their endless search for the Ice Princess. Benny points out that every time that Luke is around there is trouble and calls Luke a lousy con-artist. Luke and Robert try to entice Benny by hinting at a big deal, but Benny wants no part of it. Luke dangles $30k in cash in front of Benny and Benny starts naming names.

Edward, Alan and Monica are very content (for once) after finishing dinner. After remarking that Lila and Alex have gone out for the evening, Edward says he enjoys this time of evening when they (Alan and Monica) start coming up with excuses to go out. Edward is surprised that for once Alan and Monica insist they will spend the evening at home. Alan questions Edward about the financial troubles at ELQ, but Edward says that he has been assured that the financial troubles will soon be over. Alan says that Alex has been giving those assurances ever since she came to Port Charles. Alan eventually excuses himself to make a phone call (to Susan at the Disco of course). Larry, the PI watches as Susan talks to Alan on the phone.

Charlie Lutz is watching baseball with his feet soaking in a foot spa, much to the chagrin of his wife Emma, who is expecting a visit from Lila and Alex. When Lila and Alex arrive, Emma is too embarrassed to let them in and tries to arrange a meeting with them at the mansion. Alex asks Emma to give them the statue - promising to arrange a photographer to put her on the society pages, but Emma refuses to handover the statue and shuts the door. A mad Emma blames Charlie and pours his beer into the foot spa. Later, Emma sobs as she kisses the Ice Princess, calling it her 'ticket to high society' and sits down to eat a box of chocolates. Charlie comes in looking for his coat and is agitated when he can't find it. Emma is upset and calls him a slob, saying she had to slam the door to the Quartermaines. Charlie says that he'll make it up to her by taking her to the 'Bucket of Blood'. The two discuss how they met (turns out they married after a five day courtship) and Emma is pacified when Charlie reminds her that he told her that he'd been looking for a broad like her his entire life. The two kiss.

Kemo reports to Tony that his men have not been able to find Luke and Robert. Alex comes to him and Tony tells her that Luke and Robert have escaped. Alex tells Tony that she has found the statue. Tony is anxious to get the statue but Alex says that the situation requires a more delicate feminine touch and that she wants to get the statue back for him as she is the one who took it in the first place. The two embrace. A short while later though, Tony is still worried about the statue. Alex explains that the statue is currently in the possession of a woman who doesn't know its worth. This calms Tony down and the two embrace again.

Larry speaks to Susan, introducing himself as 'Leonard' and claiming that he is a production manager looking for disco locations for a big picture. Susan is skeptical, saying that she thought sets would be built for that. Larry Leonard says that these days the public wants more realist locations. Susan says that she would have to talk to her partner (Alan) about it first. Leonard offers to buy Susan a drink, but she refuses because of her pregnancy. Leonard offers his best wishes.

Benny tries hard to think of people that Luke and Robert might be looking for, but Luke and Robert aren't satisfied with his suggestions. Luke and Robert go off to the Bucket of Blood to leave Benny alone to think. Not long afterwards, Benny's pawnbrokers is raided by the police and he is arrested.

Lila returns to the Mansion just in time to play a game of bridge with Edward, Alan and Monica. Monica asks Alan if they will play as husbands and wives or if they will mix and match. Lila begins to tell Monica about her visit with Emma, but Edward says that he doesn't want to hear about her miserable evening. Monica convinces Edward to switch partners, but Alan refuses saying that he'd prefer to play with his wife as always. Edward makes a crack about double entendres and starts dealing out the cards, with the husbands playing with their wives as per usual.

Luke plays on the pinball machine at the Bucket of Blood. Luke and Robert then discuss what could have happened to the statue. Emma and Charlie arrive with some friends, Robert teases Luke about Emma being one of his romantic assignations but Luke hides his face from Emma and says that she is likely to beat him to death with her lip gloss. Robert goes to call Benny, but a police officer answers and Robert learns that Benny has been arrested. Robert tells Luke and Luke believes that Benny won;t be talking to them once he gets out. Luke and Robert go back to talking about past events and Luke suddenly gets an idea and looks at Charlie.

Larry Leonard explains the plot of his movie to Susan, Bryan, Claudia and Amy, saying that it is a horror film about a doctor that goes off the deep end and it is a Jekyll and Hyde type story. Amy is excited at the thought of being in a movie, but Bryan and Claudia point out that it will only be as an extra. After exchanging further pleasantries with Susan, Leonard Larry calls Monica, interrupting the Quartermaine bridge game. Alan answers the call and tells Monica. Edward subtly suggests to Alan that he eavesdrop on the call, but Alan decides not to. Meanwhile Larry tells Monica that she'll have grounds for divorce sooner than she thinks (but doesn't tell her about the pregnancy yet).

Having finished making love with Tony, Alex gets ready to depart the yacht. She promises Tony that she will get the Ice Princess first thing in the morning. Tony asks why he trusts Alex when he doesn't trust the rest of the world. Alex tells Tony to get some sleep and that tomorrow they will begin their lives of wealth power and love.

I remember being annoyed when Michael Logan interviewed JFP and Pratt at Y&R and she admitted killing Maureen was a mistake, claimed she learned from it and never did it again (she blames others for Frankie Frame).  I wish someone had mentioned Alan and what she did to Anna Lee.  Because she absolutely did do it again.

By the time she left GH-  Bobbie, Monica, Alan, Laura, Edward, Lila, Tony, Amy, Audrey (and I’m sure I’m forgetting some) were off contract and not allowed to return under contract.  And yet, Carly, Sonny, and Jason were often on 3 to 4 shows a week for years.  I’m not saying some of those characters were not played out (Tony), but she absolutely allowed the show to be decimated.

I also know it is sexism to just always blame her.  I blame Frons as well.  And Guza.  But at least Riche was open to the older actors.

Two big mistakes in GH history. Killing Alan effectively destroyed the Quartermaines — and Monica's airtime. Even worse, they brought back the writers favorite punching back AJ, and finally had Sonny & Carly answer to Michael for their misdeeds, only to kill AJ off in a case of mistaken identity. Disgusting.

    • I think they’re desperately trying to cover his awful tattoos. But anyway them being unable to style short kings properly has been a major pet peeve of mine for a while now.  I honestly don’t understand what some people expect from actors to even begin considering them for recognition. Let’s be real—awards mostly mean that an actor is respected by their peers and has some level of cultural relevance. Actual judgment on the acting itself? That’s often secondary—highly subjective and shaped by the times. I completely agree on both points. If you’re an actor or a dancer you shouldn’t get any tattoos (sorry not sorry). Tomas’ tattoos are ugly too. And regarding the couples- you’re completely right. These writers are unable to write romance.   Further comments: - Kat cannot be this dumb to keep tampering with evidence over and over again. And I’m officially not a fan of the actress—every time she’s in a scene with Leslie, she doesn’t seem intimidated at all. She plays it like comic relief, which is just too much, especially when paired with Leslie’s histrionics and over-the-top antics. Leslie is older, dangerous, and has literally been portrayed as homicidal—Kat should be at least a little scared. • I also didn’t like Kat playing damsel in distress with the hotel manager. It gave off the same weird energy as Dani with the cop. I would’ve much preferred the version Paul Raven suggested, with her sneaking in through housekeeping. • And yes, Dani again accused Hayley of faking the pregnancy—this time even specifying she might be using a pillow under her shirt. (No fake miscarriage being mentioned) I stand by my take: this is ridiculous writing. No one in the real world—except us, the chronically online soap watchers—would even think of such a conspiracy theory. Haley is no Beyoncé. • What in the world was Chelsea wearing in her hair the other day? And this whole thing with Madison is beyond cringe. Chelsea’s coming off as needy and toxic—basically like every other Dupree. • I’m glad the casino storyline is moving forward, but it’s still boring as hell. Honestly, I’d be so here for a plot twist where Vanessa and Doug take Joey out. • The direction and editing lately have been rough. Abrupt cuts, weird pacing… something just feels off overall. There’s a strange uneasiness to how it’s all coming together. • And finally: Tomas is too much of a saint. Where are the messy sluts when you need them? (Vanessa doesn’t count.)
    • Andrew sure has hard nips.
    • I was watching some August 1987 episodes and they brought back so many memories. I had some thoughts: Lisa and Jamie were so dull. Lisa was such a nothing character. It boggles my mind that so much story was centered around her in such a short amount of time. Joanna Going is a talented actress, but the material was just not there.  It was so good to see Wallingford and Mitch again. I know there was talk about Felicia a while back, but these episodes reminded me how integral Felicia was for the show.  Sally Spencer was done so dirty. She is turning in superb performances in an icky storyline. I wish she had stuck around longer. She has chemistry with everyone. The McKinnons should have lasted longer. Spencer had some strong stuff with Stephen Schnetzer and Mary Alexander. AW waster such a talented actress by getting rid of her. Justice for Cheryl too. I also missed Ed Fry when he left. Sandra Ferguson was a star from the moment she came on. She was charismatic and just popped. She had immediate chemistry with RKK and blended in well with Wyndham and Watson. I'd forgotten about the teenage Matthew.  I have no memory of Peggy Lazarus. She must not have lasted long. Was the original plan for John that he was going to turn out to be the twins' real father?
    • If the new and improved copies that @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded can be manually moved into the "by month, by year" folders, that would be awesome. I personally don't think it's necessary to keep the older versions (which either have Dutch subtitles hard coded on them, or are lesser in picture quality). That's a lot of valuable drive space that could be cleared. Just my view but can appreciate others may feel differently. The structure had been by month by year previously, so I think it would be easier to conform to that, where so much prior work to get it to that format has already been done. Hopefully you can "drag and drop" so the new copies are in the right month/year? Re Clips, I never look at them now we pretty much have the episodes in full. Appreciate others may use, however. Thanks for all your hard work here @BoldRestless!
    • Oh yes defintely, Josh Griffith repeats and repeats the same storylines.
    • Isnt’t this storyline similar to the Cameron Kirsten situation though? Sharon thought she killed him. He ended up being alive and Sharon was being tormented with thinking she was seeing his face everywhere and that’s how we got that iconic scene with her and Nikki in the sewers.   I understand in Mariah’s case this is different circumstances but it does seem like a play on that whole thing. Maybe I’m wrong. I just wish if they were going to make any character follow in Sharon’s foot steps it would be Faith. Mariah wasn’t even raised by her, and her personality is different. I would expect her to take a different path. I understand I could be completely jumping ahead because the storyline hasn’t even played out yet but we’ll see.
    • Thanks again @Paul Raven Monica was completely without redeeming qualities at this point. I always found the whole Monica = Carly narrative regressive, as I don't think shows comparing characters so heavily is ever a great idea, but she's actually worse than Carly was. Was it the Pollocks who had Leslie have a miscarriage?  Giving her a child, especially by rape, was not a good idea, but a part of me wishes they'd committed to it just to see what story it might have had in later years.
    • @janea4old Your detailed explanation and delving into the psychology and motivations is no doubt the opposite of what we will see onscreeen. As @ranger1rg stated we will get a few scenes and some sketchy explanations. Like the adoption of Aria, most of it will take place off screen.
    • I'm suddenly fearful that DAYS is going to pull a Flowers-for-Algernon stunt and Bo's progress will be reversed.  While @te. is stuck on Abe's tiny bedroom, I can't stop thinking of the size of Bo's huge hospital room.
    • Okay, why are Paulina and Abe sleeping like that?!  I'd take a screen grab if I wasn't lazy, but come on.
