GH: Discussion for the Month of August

The Cassadines as a family unit have been dead for the better part of the last decade. The last big push was the Helena/Aidan DNA switch and that was just a hot mess which the show didnt even bother to follow through with. The family needs a strong patriarch and Stavros and Stefan are dead. They tried to make Nik as the lead but IMO, he sucked in the role and it didnt suit him. Alexis and her litter come across as fake Cassadines and their roots NEVER come into play with defining who these characters are. They are defined as Davis women, not Cassadines. The Cassadine vs Spencer feud is such an outdated premise and doesnt seem to work with the modern day GH mainly bc most of the major players are no longer around. None of the current Cassadines are shady except for Helena and what the hell is she fighting for? The motivation just isnt there and ends up coming across as a big waste with no direction. Heck I see more potential in reviving the Quartermaines (which has more dead members) than the Cassadines at this point. They just seem done

Mmm…. they're "done" if this stupid Spencer vs. Cassidine thing is the focus. I agree there completely. That was done in the 80's IMO. But if they return with something else up their sleeve and the focus becomes the Cassidine women (I still think Hellzabub could sink her claws into the romantic Molly without any problem) then they have some potential. As is however…. not dead, just useless.

The Q's… well the Alan Q's have been done for some time, but I think the Tracy Q's (with a healthy does of Spencermaines in general) is still worth quite a few tales. We know next to nothing about her and the ghosts she could unleash on the family.

I really don't get the appeal of Jason Cook. He is uncharismatic and dull. I am all for moving Liz away from the abyss that is this version of Lucky but Matt ain't it.

And Jasam I just can't, They and Scrubs just bore me to tears.

This is why NO ONE should demand "happy couples"…. boring as day-old bread. Soaps are about sexual chess, they are not a cooperative game.

No. Quartermaines are dead. Cassidines are merely off the canvas. At any point we could have Nicholas back. Helena is theoretically around, and we have Alexis, Kristina, Sam and Molly. Then there are any number of Cassidines potentially living in GW's brain.

Alexis and her daughters are not Cassadines. There is not a single Cassadinish way about any of them. Cassadines don't have children with Sonny and spend their entire life rejecting all things bizarre. They don't waste their time with street level crime thugs like Jason, they don't do or care about any of the things Sam, Kristina and Molly are interested in. Alexis was always the worst of all the Cassadines because she rejected everything about them, and her children have never even met real Cassadines except for Nik, who also rejected all things Cassadine. Accidents of birth do not a Cassadine make.

Ugh in Monica's dream AJ is dead? UGH UGH UGH, AJ continues to be crapped on.

Yep not feeling the wonderful Garin Wolf

SO I guess the point of these dreams? I felt it was a giant love letter to Guza's Jasonn

Monica's version of Jason a coke head? LMAO

At the end we all realize this version of Jason is the best. WOW.

SD looks fantastic.

those dreams were AWFUL. GW has too much Guza in him

Yes he loves mobular Jason no doubt. I never expected different.

On a side note Burton is zzzzzzzz no matter what version of Jason we see. Jason can stay a borg.

I think the biggest problem with GH now is the lack of family bonds and strong relationships and friendships. GH seems to continue to believe that this is boring and people just want to see death and the mob.

I know Tony Geary may not like it but if there are any changes at GH I think one of the first should be rebuilding relationships between Lulu, Lucky, and Luke. Otherwise these characters are just superfluous and unwatchable.

I don't see the harm in having some brief family gathering for the Spencers, bring back Bobbie and Leslie and Lucas for a day. Bring in a Ruby-type figure who might be recurring and call them on their crap.

I would also undo Ethan as Luke's son.

Carly is such a manipulative bitch. She drops the hint that something could be wrong with Michael but she cant tell Jason until after the surgery, knowing full well that he would inquire and want to get involved. Thank god Sam came in and went off on her for trying to pull this bullsh-t AGAIN

...and Jason is a drug user, now that he's a Q in Monica's dream. Unreal.

Now you're just splitting a hair. The ARE Cassidines by blood. What they choose to do with that is their business. By your definition Stephan wouldn't count as a "real Cassidine" either.
