I want one actor, just one, to say...

"So many of you have asked whether I'll be moving on to the online version of AMC/OLTL and I'd like to respond to that by saying... will you people mind your own [!@#$%^&*] business?

it sucks we are moving online..I'd rather it be to

another network. The pay is going to suck.

Walt Willey's mother just died a few days ago. This tragic news makes me feel even more sorry for him regarding all the wrath some soap fans have given him for his recent public statement.

I don't see how they can possibly have this up and running by Sept 26, BUT I am glad to hear that is their goal. If there is a time lapse between the time AMC goes off ABC and this new venture gets up and running, people will have moved on and forgotten about AMC and it will be REALLY tough to get them to go back to AMC on the internet. Soaps are all about habit viewing. Think how so many blame the OJ trial and how many viewers never came back after those pre emptions. Viewers get into new habits. And most viewers are not in the habit of watching AMC online so if there is a long lapse in between, I see this venture failing.

I wonder what kind of on-air promos will run touting the move to online.

Am I crazy for suggesting that there are viewers out there who don't even know the show is cancelled? I can see some older folks in particular having no clue. I have been lazy about spreading the news and I am almost positive that my AMC-watching family and friends don't know about this online thing yet.

Habit viewing goes away the moment AMC stops airing on network television. BUt I am not taking anything in that article as fact since the Lucci commitment seemed to be totally bogus. I don't think a break is a bad idea. It gives you a chance to reset and get the show and the audience prepared. ANd they can use it as an opportunity to reset the show to an extent.

If I were one of the actors, I would want Prospect Park to basically show me the money or make an iron-clad guarantee of what I would be paid before I signed on. Unless and until PP demonstrates that the quality and length of the show will be unchanged, I'm going to remain skeptical that there won't be a lesser budget. All kinds of misinformation seems to be flying these days.

This is so true. In fact, P&G was terrified about this in regards to EON failing after it moved from CBS to ABC: apparently, CBS' original plan was for the expanded 60 minute ATWT to debut in September 1975. However, the 60-minute ATWT was postponed until December 1975 because ABC was unable to add EON to its schedule until then. P&G begged CBS to keep EON on the air for the extra three months because they were afraid that being off the air for that short period of time would kill the show.

I'd actually prefer a break. It would be a nice chance to drain some of the crazy from this pool. If the show is going to be different a break allows for promotion and the chance to create something of quality hopefully. If it's just going to be the same thing, then go ahead and start the next day because that's a recipe for crash and burn.

Right now I'm more curious about how PP is going to deliver this content. Are they starting their own site? If so, that makes the September launch is even more ridiculous. Or will this be shown on an existing "channel" like Hulu? It just seems like there's a lot more to consider than just these two shows.

After reading Lucci's comments, I don't think anyone knows whats going to happen and when. The actors are all officially gone end of Aug. Contracts have to be renegotiated with those they want to keep and out of those many will choose to go. And does someone have a bible of what happening on Sept 26th when the show

supposedly starts online. WHile I am sure there are a group of people who would be content with status quo, I am not one of them. But as AMC is the guinea pig, maybe they just want to get something going and not care about all the rest.
