Members John
I think a lot of fans will give AMC a shot when it relaunches. The show has a rich long history to pull from. As long as we got a great EP & writing team we will be fine.

Members DaytimeFan
Are you serious? If AMC ever comes to Prospect Park's online venture the audience is going to have moved on from it. And what the hell is a "great EP and writing team" going to do without a cast that viewers recognize. LOL. Too true.
Webmaster Errol Posted November 11, 2011 Webmaster Share Posted November 11, 2011 SID, TV Guide, Variety, etc....what the hell is this about only Lindsay and Cameron being signed on for AMC 2.0? Hey, why not do some work and speak with Prospect Park for a change and confirm Darnell Williams through them too? SOME people actually did get off their butts to confirm it without using a Twitter post as their source.... I'm so annoyed with seeing just two names when in fact it is now three (which isn't all that as it is, but still)...

Members chyti
Does PP really think they can launch an entire network with only one show, especially with everyone else now getting in on the act. Google and Youtube launching their own channels with big name power behind them which is probably where the money is going. I can see a whole lot of shows that wouldn't have gotten a chance on tv being on these channels back by those in the industry who feel stifle by the tv execs. Also what does this mean for the Bravo move if there is one. Marceline - I watch and support ABG also and I am hoping they can get one of those channel pickups. Members dragonflies
I think the stuff about Bravo was just more talk from PP, using that to convince actors to sign IMO

Members Steve
I feel the same way. It is funny that they don't seem to know about Darnell. I still care but I'm disillusioned that PP knows what they're doing; first hiring FV to oversee their soaps and now this! Thanks for looking into it further! Yeah, I have no interest in OLTL 2.0 because to me it lost its heart and soul years ago, which AMC still had. ICAM! I'm glad the Variety piece clarified that the show is on hold rather than not proceeding at all, but I'm concerned about PP finding a great EP & writing team at this point. Members marceline
AMC will have to build its audience from scratch and IMO that's not necessarily bad thing. The show needed a serious colon cleansing.
Members JaneAusten
IA. I still like the "Return to Pine Valley" concept which could hook some peolpe in for the nostalgia factor but give them a chance to intro some new characters and stories that mght appeal to a new audience. But I am a pessimist and still think PP can say what they want about the project on hold, I think its tabled for good. JMO of course.
Members JaneAusten
If Bravo was a surefire possibility, the shows would not be having issues raising money at least thats my opinion. Thats not to say they wouldn;t end up on cable somewhere eventually. Bravo has done incredibly well with their strategy and its not a critcism but I have been trying to see the upside Bravo would get from picking up 2 shows that don't really have the potential to grow any kind of substantial audience in their current incarnations. Where a network like OWN could have used it to simply draw additonal viewers to build their network with. Bravo really doesn't have that issue. Members marceline
I've filed Bravo stuff away in that pile of rumors that had no basis in reality that we've heard since the shows got canceled. The ones like Sony was going to pick up the shows, ABC was reconsidering OLTL's cancellation because of its ratings, PP was going to launch online AMC in September, GH hasn't been canceled. etc... Members Chris B
I think it might be easier to get a cable deal with one soap since they only have to devote one hour. If it works, great, if it doesn't then it would be no big deal to drop it. I see absolutely nothing wrong with launching with one show. That was the original plan after all, to launch AMC in September then OLTL in January. Besides, every cable network has begun by launching one show at a time. Look at Bravo and AMC in particular. I feel bad for AMC fans, but cliffhangers and all I thought that was a damn good finale, so I'm not too upset if it doesn't continue. That show went out on top and they gave us closure in the final weeks without it feeling like the show was ending. I liked that. I didn't like how with ATWT or GL it felt like a tv show ending. I feel like life is still going on in Pine Valley. I agree with the thought that without Susan Lucci they shouldn't bother with AMC. If OLTL proves successful and they want a second soap they need to look at developing an entirely new soap. It's easier because they can cast whoever they want and either way they'll be looking at a new audience. Or do a spin-off of AMC. Even then I think that would be difficult. I'd also look at other soaps like AW, ATWT, GL, etc. and look into a spin-off or a remake. That way you have the brand recognition, but it's still a new product so they don't have casting restrictions. I can't get too upset because this is all very experimental and everything is being done on the fly since they don't have much time to work with.
