Members I Am A Swede
I wonder how B&B would have handled it if Hunter's role on Melrose Place had worked out and she had left B&B for real. Would they have re-cast Taylor or brought in a new character? And if I'm not mistaken, wasn't KKL also thinking about leaving around this time? Would B&B even have survived if both HT and KKL would have left? Edited April 30, 2024 by I Am A Swede
Members Maxim
The show would have survived of course. The fact that it survived past Susan Flannery proves it can. But I think Taylor should never have been bring back from the dead - this series of bringing her back cheapened the show and made it a mockery. She died so many times and came back... it was... laughable. Edited April 30, 2024 by Maxim
Members ChickenNuggetz92
I don't know if I'm in the minority (or if my personal nostalgia is making me biased), but I very much find myself enjoying the early 2000 B&B episodes on YouTube. From Macy losing her sobriety, with Becky's cancer, and of course the Morgan storyline I find myself entertained. I'm surprised at how critical some of the comments are from this era. Side note, the same toxic mouthbreathers have also latched onto making personal attacks to Sarah Buxton/Morgan lmao.
Members Maxim
I think these people can't separate a character from an actor. They start bashing an amazing actor just because the character is doing bad things. Shocking how immature they are.
Members Rmodelboy
I feel like making a list of characters who just vanish lol I'm at the beginning of 1996 The young set is in such a lull. Jessica/Sly was a terrible choice Michael/Dylan - dullsville although I remember back in the day dealing becoming a stripper or escort so im sure that's coming up. They should have kept Jasmine in the fashion fold but they have the girl working as a waitress and lusting for Sly. I don't know if in the minority or not but I wished they would have left Bridgett as Ridge's. This letter that Ridge found would have hit harder had the results stayed the same. Did they reveal who wrote the letter ?
Members Videnbas
Oh, I absolutely enjoy the 2000 episodes on youtube! S13 is one of my personal favorites. Even though it isn't quite as well crafted as the Bill Bell years, it is clearly one of the best Brad Bell seasons. I am looking forward to the double tearjerker of Becky's and Macy's deaths. And the Morgan storyline, and Ridge being tricked into infidelity by e-mail, is just hilarious!
Members kalbir
B&B started tanking during the second half of 1995, thus that fall Sheila returned and Lauren crossed over. Funny thing is that 1996-1998 Sheila and Lauren were hardly in each other's orbits.
Members soapfan770
Oh yes. Like Y&R, B&B went through a 1996-97 downturn as well but came alive again in the fall of 1997. The Maggie/James/Sheila triangle and rivalry was at least something different, and after Sheila’s suicide attempt by jumping off a building in her wedding dress it seemed Sheila going to be put into a more a sane direction until Stephanie meddled in her affairs again.
Members Maxim
1994 was horrible for me. It just had so many absurd things. I personally hated the princess Leila storyline. I cringed so much and it just felt like a different show. After that, the show was lost trying to find the center again. I didn't like Brooke losing her mind... The scenes where she was running mad with the dolls were absurd. 1995 to 1998 was up and down up and down. Good moments then pure trash. In 1999 Bold started to really come alive and by 2000 it was in great form. Not like the classic era, but something you can enjoy and laugh and want to watch again the next day. Members kalbir
1996-1998 there were five pregnancy leaves: Tracey Bregman and Hunter Tylo in Fall 1996, KKL in Spring 1997, Hunter Tylo and Kimberlin Brown in early 1998. Those impacted a good number of storylines I'd say.

Members I Am A Swede
I wonder why they only had a temporary recast for KKL and not any of the others.
Members ChickenNuggetz92
I still think Brooke is low key iconic for hand-delivering Macy divorce papers back in 2000 and was an unintentionally hilarious moment LMAO.
Members BoldKara
Taylor had a temporary recast in Sherilyn Wolter, Ronn Moss had Lane Davies.... Oops! Trying to slip them under the door! Edited May 7, 2024 by BoldKara
Members kalbir
You're welcome. That was 1990 I believe. What @I Am A Swede is referring to are when actresses were on pregnancy leave.
