All: Single Scenes You Think Should Have Won An Actor/Actress an Emmy

ETA: Eva LaRue said that scene was a composite of two takes. She said she did all of that blubbering and such until the end of the scene... then the director came down to the set and said she had to do it again because of a technical issue which caused them to lose the end of the first take. So she had to get BACK into that "muh baby, muh baby... eeeeeek!" mode for the second take.

That seems to be one of a few stories about AMC 1990s performances being obstructed due to tech issues. Didn't FrenchFan have an interview with Dick Shoberg where he said a scene, around the same time, featuring Tom speaking out during an abortion protest when Julia was going to get one after her rape was done several times because of tech issues? That leads to a sub question of how many performances we didn't see due to tech issues?

That sounds infuriating. You know on a soap these people are pulling out all the stops for material like that expecting it to be their one and only take and to be told they have to do it again when there were probably several times along the years they would have appreciated a second take and didn't get it. <_<

GH: Jason Tells Monica Emily is Dead (Leslie Charleson)...Fast forward to 5:10

This scene moves me to tears every time. When Monica says "Who Jason? Who? They're all dead!" I bawl everytime. "You are all I have left and I don't WANT YOU!" "You are not my son!" Just pure gold on Leslie's part.

The focus of that scene was so much about poor poor Jason, but it was a nice moment for Leslie.

Yeah there was too much focus on Jason and how wounded HE was, but the acting on Leslie's part was powerhouse. Here's another scene from around that time.

From about 1:50 to around 4:35. I think had Leslie submitted some of these scenes as a reel, she could have nabbed a Supporting Actress nom.

Hands down Susan lucci should of won an emmy for her meltdown at the pine valley inn when she was sky high in 95 or 96? She ripped almost everyone in that room a new one brooke, maria, dimitri, opal, etc. That scene is epic.

I've posted these scenes a dozen times, but that's what the thread is for, after all!

Christine Tudor as Gwyn Alden. How did she not even get a nomination? The performance of a career, and one that enthralled me as I sat and watched when these episodes first aired. Superb. She has that despair and that wailing, really getting into the performance, without seeming actor-y or self-conscious. My favorite lines, "I took the armor off my heart...and I let hope come in," and, "I can't bear to see your pain, Stacey!" And when she calls Tess, "That...thing."

WOW Carl. Thank you, I haven't seen that in so long. Truly superb. And Ameila Heinle looks amazing there. She really is pretty, when her hair is under control.

It completely baffles me as to why Beverlee McKinsey never won a Emmy from her time on GL.

She didn't get one yet Laura Wright did? Someone explain that to me.

Judging by the surviving episodes I have seen, I would say this was especially true of her work on AW.

Denise Alexander never won an Emmy did she? A true travesty. She's one of the, if not the, best actress(es) in daytime.

Vincent Irizarry's scenes as David in May of 1999--when he told the story of his father's suicide and his life with Vanessa. When the gunshot goes off at the end, I still jump.

-Erica's melt down and speech in front of all of Pine Valley, while addicted to painkillers, at Brooke's Woman of the Year ceremony (I think...) -- (Susan Lucci)

My favorite line from that is when Erica says.. "And St. Maria of Wildwind, tending to the sick in her push-up bra!":wub: Made of win!!!

Kylie, loved, loved, loved that scene with AMC's David as well. It was perfectly written and acted!
