Now that the show is over, I can officially label this as the WORST daytime emmys in HISTORY. Nothing was right about it. NOTHING. Not even the Susan Lucci tribute which SHOULD have been amazing. And while I appreciated she, Shemar, and Liza's moments on stage, it just wasn't enough. Not when we've got a whole circus for Oprah.

Wayne Brady is a horrific host on everything he's on. I don't know WHAT they were thinking. The last good host I can remember was Vanessa Williams.

How is anyone supposed to take soaps or daytime seriously when we get assaulted with THIS piece of [!@#$%^&*] show?! I STILL can't believe it. How can ANYONE think that it was good? I'm...I'm just appalled.

+10000!

I'm just going to watch my Real Housewives of NJ now and forget about it all. :(

The only bright spot for me was Michael Park winning.

Please no more Emmys next year.

I wont be watching if there is one.

Michael Park is trending!

But anyway. I'm going to need someone - anyone - to come out and speak against the systematic destruction of daytime television. Someone has to be in this once-mighty phenomenon's corner. Daytime was once a vibrant, lively, amazing, confident, proud part of television, but it's not anymore.

ANYONE should've won over Laura Wright. ANYONE. I wanted so badly for Alicia to win but I would've been happy for any other Actress except for ratchet Laura Wright angry.gifdry.gif

I can see why the voters chose Brittany Allen after the reel she submitted. It's still a joke that she won, though...LOL seriously.

Scott Clifton deserved his award as did Jonathan Jackson.

I was surprised by Heather Tom's win, unfortunately didn't see her performance but I'm sure she deserved it. I thought for sure Tricia would take it though for Y&R. I wanted MCE to win though.

B&B deserved the best show win to me even though I really wanted AMC to take it.

There could still be an Emmy show next year. Don't forget, AMC and OLTL will still be eligible. That's the explanation the Emmy producers gave for not doing tributes. Agreed though that it was a terrible show.

If only for the AMC and OLTL tributes and eligibility, I am hoping that we get one more show next year. Although I agree, ratings are probably awful.

Host Wayne Brady opened the show by joining dance troupe JabbaWockeez for a quick number (we get, Price is Right host — you can hoof it, too). But he had a hard time tap dancing around the lame joke he was given that addressed the high-profile departures in daytime this year. “Oprah retired, Regis retired. All My Children and One Life to Live, Erica Kane, forced retirement,” he said, while a the camera grabbed an awkward shot of Susan Lucci. Instead of a laugh, though, the crowd just booed. “Don’t boo me,” he retorted. “I didn’t write this crap.” His yucks didn’t any better as the show progressed. At another point, he took a picture of the crowd with his Blackberry and said ”I’m going to post it on my Facebook.”

I'm sure ratings were awful, so I doubt there'll be another.

They were awful last year, the year before and the year before that!

She won partly bc there was NO competition. How is it that each category has at least 5 nominees but hers only had 3? Its not like there werent enough young actresses in daytime. Kimberly Matula and Jacqueline Macinness Wood should have been there. Even Molly from Days. The nomination process was screwed up

AMC and OLTL are not getting any damn tributes. By this time next year, AMC will have been off the air for nearly a year. They can't honor soaps that are still on the air properly, so what makes you think they'll honor dead ones?

This sucks ass.

I wonder just how much longer they will let the Daytime Emmys continue, whether they are broadcast or not....there just aren't that many soaps left. Couldn't you image if it got down to just B&B and Y&R competing against one another for every award? :P

Next year's show will be a live telecast stream on the internet
