Susan Lucci won't stay in soaps. She has enough other activities and professional interests outside of her soap career to focus on. I would

love to see her on OWN in a show. Oprah needs to start turning that network around, soaps are dead, so why not hire the highest profile soap

star out there to headline some sort of makeover show or such. But word is Lucci's got a contract with ABC not AMC so who knows.

Agreed that Lucci won't stay in soaps. She's done, she'll pack it in.

Just thought I'd point out, however, that no actor has a contract with AMC, all the contracts are with ABC since it is the production company behind the shows. They are all ABC employees, not employees of each show.

They all disappear doing the occasional commercial, guest spot, and theatre role excluding:

Lucci is the one who is going to be laughing all the way to the bank this time. AMC stopped being relevant to her brand probably a decade ago.

Lucci will never be a contract player again but I wonder, I just wonder, if she'll do at least *one* CBS cameo at some point, like her modern day daytime equivalent of the Dallas guest spot.

The only thing I know for damn sure is that Easton will be going to GH so fangurls can get their Caleb and Livvie fix. Frons is creaming his pants just thinking about the fanbase war he'll get out of it and since Jason never has to fight for a woman he'll be placed with one of the women from AMC. Poor Becky, she will never be used once the air hogs from AMC crossover. She might a well ask to be let out of her contract now.

I don't even think there will be any Caleb/Livvie fanbase at this point - not when Easton has lost any hint of charisma he had in 2001-2002 and when Sam is just Jason's moll, with Kelly Monaco barely there.

I do think Easton, JPL, Mathison, and Budig will all get as much help from Frons as possible.

The rest, aside from Susan Lucci and a few of the younger names in the casts, will probably fade out.

If the untalented and uncharismatic David Gregory wanted a good career he would go into porn, or at least the Skinemax stuff. That seems to be the only reason he had a following on OLTL in the first place.

so why does anyone believe they can afford to hire high priced actors from other shows. Easton lives in NY. Do people really believe

he'd pick up and move to LA for a show that likely has less than a year remaining anyway unless he wants to relocate to california.

the only reason I see Easton on GH is maybe for six months as some OTT villain and the only reason I see him doing that is if he wanted to move to LA and he just had a new baby, but I doubt he goes to GH

You could be right, But in GH's case the rumor is they have to cut another 50 percent of their budget to secure themselves through Sept 2012. If not,

they could be gone sooner. So how could they afford Easton.

and viewers have they brought with them? Aside from getting Y&R some industry buzz, I don't see it. I also don't see it with

Genie Francis either. In this day and age I guess you do what you have to to survive but adding high priced vets just for buzz purposes seems pointless especially now.

High priced actors? They're out of a job and they have absolutely no bargaining power to negotiate anything. They would happily work cheap especially if Frons is continuing to keep them employed by ABC. Frons will definitely ensure that his pets move to GH if they're willing to stay/relocate in LA. And if the other soaps think that these actors can bring some of their fanbase with them, why wouldn't they want to employ them. Again, they will be coming cheap.

And IA with Leahanna that if Easton goes to GH he will be a villain. It keeps with his Caleb persona and I think the dude wants to distance himself from the McBain character since it has done him no favors.

At this point who are they one upping. GH didn't want Genie that was made clear for years. Or Tristan or Eden Reigel so aside from lampooning to soap

fans about signing a big name who are they impressing? As I said its for buzz and you are correct. None of these casting decisions no matter how much

I may like the actors involved have improved anything. It just masks the real issues and takes the easiest way out.

I am just assuming that the rumors about GH ending in Sept 2012 are true so with OLTL ending in January, GH is all of a sudden going to bring on new

characters as they are trying to wrap up storylines for the characters already on the show? Maybe I am jaded I just don't see it but I guess you never

know.
