How is it explained that Tina can't recognize her own step-father?  

 

Also, I'm unclear on his plot.  Was he trying to con Tina out of her inheritance from Irene?  Was pushing drugs part of his original scheme?  Also, is it just that it is nighttime because where is the greenhouse full of ferns by Viki's entry in the carriage house in this scene?

 

The imposter who pretended to be the step-father came to Llanview, as I remember, to get control of Tina (and, consequently, her inheritance from Irene).   He and Victoria became attracted to one another, and he hoped to marry her before the truth was revealed.  I don't remember drugs being involved, but my memory may be hazy.

How long Did Christine Jones sub as Viki in 1981 and Judith Barcroft as Viki in 1987

Ms. Jones substituted for Ms. Slezak during her maternity leave.  I am unable to tell you the specific length, but it seemed to be several months.

 

I missed the Judith Barcroft appearance on One Life to Live.  It was probably less that three days, I would imagine. 

Ms Jones was from August 1981 to January 1982 approx. as Viki Lord

I'm reminded of Erika's anecdote about watching from home to see Bo, Viki's intended, end up with Pat. The writers must have kicked the Clint/Viki romance into high gear when Erika came back, since they were married in November 1982.

It was during the absence of Ms. Slezak that Victoria and Ted were having most of their scenes.   (I preferred Keith Charles in the role.  I like Mark Goddard, but I preferred him on The Doctors).

I still don't understand the detail of how Tina failed to recognize her stepfather Ted?  Was there a "real" Ted?

 

I would like to see the period after Ted escaped from prison.

I thought Pat and Bo were together earlier than that (when did the Olympia story take place)?

I thought so, too. The Paris remote that introduced Olympia was in August 1980. Olympia apparently hung around until January 1982. I'm either remembering the anecdote wrong (from the anniversary book) or Erika combined a few years.

Was Oltl the first soap to do a remote overseas ? They really were in Paris in July 1980!

Ryan'Hope went to Ireland for Mary and Jack's honeymoon and Tom and Erica went to St Croix both prior to this.

 

AW went to St Croix also for the culmination of the Mac/Rachel/Janice story.

oh yes!!!! And Search for tomorrow with Liza and Travis in Hong Kong (I think)........ RH in Irland I think it was in 1977...so maybe RH was the first soap doing this...
