OLTL: Discussion for the week of April 4

When the camera was not focused on Shane, and I was bawling my eyes out, I was laughing out loud at JPL and FF's sorry attempts at acting today. Especially JPL's facial experessions, they totally ruined what should have been emotionally heavy material, and turned it into the comedy hour for me. How many times can one actor widen their eyes and have their jaw drop half way to the ground, before one realizes that's not what the scene calls for? I do hope though that the kid that plays Shane gets a Younger Actor nom and wins after today. He out acted both of his screen partners today.

Brody's character assassination begun today with Brody's hypocrisy towards Marty. Perhaps it was the writers agenda all along, but I rooted alongside John today when he called Brody out on his own past with mental instability. It is nice to see Brody and Natalie still have chemistry.

Was that a picture of Tea and her father that Tomas has supposedly drawn, or a picture of Rosanne and their father? Will the Delgado siblings at least send a shout out to their murderess of a sister?

Sigh, I do wonder where will they take Matthew after this? Will he become even more darker and take the crazy route? Or will they redeem him like ATWT did with Will Munson?

I'm happy others are realizing what an amazing actress KDP is. Loved the scenes between Blair and her son, however I have to say: RECAST JACK NOW. That actor was weighing those scenes down whenever the script required him to speak.

No comment on the Viki/Charlie scenes. So many "WTF's" with that entire story.

JPL does those facial expressions on all of his scenes. The dude can't act period!!

Charlie sleeping with Echo was just out of nowhere. Just plain stupid lazy writing by Ron.

Marty and Brody have to go to help remind of John's awesomeness. Melissa Archer's job security, if OLTL has any now, is tied to propping John.

JPL has ruined so many dramatic storylines that at this point I wonder if someone at OLTL wants them to fail.

Either that or one of the two really has the hots for JPL.

JPL always ruins serious scenes with his crazy facial expressions. I liked his scenes where he saved Nora from Eddie's motel room because he actually took the material seriously.

Why would it be Roseanne, a character who hasnt been relavant in nearly a decade? That was intended to be Tea

JPL should have a shirt made saying that so he can wear it.

So Rex and Gigi are the same age and Gigi said today that she 17 when she had Shane. A few months ago the show said that Rex is 27 and his son is a freshmen in high school....

Rex was aged to 26 back in 2006 and they kept his SORASed age when they brought Shane on in 2008 as his 10 year old son. Shane should be about 13/14 with Rex and Gigi about 30/31

Sorry to hear that

The scenes did nothing for me. The acting of JPL and FF ruined any chance I could've tear up for Shane.

I started to tear up when Shane said he wanted to be normal and not the sick kid. Even Farah Fath got me a little bit.

JPL....NOTHING.

Even Farah Fath got me a little bit.

I thought she did fantastic, especially when she started pouring her heart out to Shane and telling him how much she loved him. That speech was pretty long and I thought FF hit all the right beats. Her & Austin both knocked it out of the park today IMO. "We need more minutes, baby" "I just want to be happy...I don't want to live like this." :(

Jack would tell you to get over it. I'd punched him in the mouth and kick his balls a few times, but that won't change what he'd think.

I was listening more than watching, but I thought the kid playing Shane was doing a really nice job. When his voice broke I got a little lump in my throat, poor guy. I did find those two or three fakeout falls more annoying than suspenseful.

I was so glad Blair slapped that boy and I wish she didn't apologize for it. I can hardly believe that I detest a character more than Ford, who can at least act save for those Telemundo faces he be makin.

I didn't know she was going to slap him over Marty, but I was so, so glad she did. And you know what? The real Todd, before the rapemance, would've done the same thing.

KDP briefly raised that kid's game, but he's still got to go.
