Yep one of the reasons Larkin took Clay on was because Celeste Holm was Isabelle & he wanted to work with her. Right after he was hired though, Celeste quit and Patricia Barry took over.

How long was Larkin Clay before Dennis took over???

Did he even last a year? I don't think he was on long at all. This must have been around '92. I remember sitting on the bed watching with my mom while she was folding clothes and she quipped about how they had to keep changing Isabelle's portrait. Patricia came on when the cold cream burned and disfigured Isabelle's face.

There was a picture in SOM or SOU at the time that I loved, it was of Larkin as Clay and CT as Gwyn among others watching Dinah Lee make a spectacle of herself, I think she was dirty dancing or something. Gwyn is so svelte and chic, she steals the picture.

I think Larkin Malloy assumed the role of Clay Alden in January 1992. I'm pretty sure they immediately paired Malloy's Alden with Dinahlee as the Dinahlee/Trucker affair was coming to an end. Trisha gave birth to Christopher in February and I think Trucker was with Trisha for the birth of their child. Fran Sears hired Malloy, but I don't know if Mary Ryan Munisteri or Addie Walsh was writing at the time.

Originally, Dennis Partalo was a temp replacement for Malloy, but when Malloy returned from medical leave he was fired. I don't think Malloy returned onscreen after his departure in October 1992. He was also offscreen a bit around September / October after learning he wasn't an Alden. This all happened during the transition period with Haidee Granger as EP. Robert Guza and Millee Taggert had probably just started when Partalo appeared.

SFK, I wonder if the picture you remember is of Dinahlee stripping at the opening of the Maple Street center. Dinahlee was on a downward spiral in the fall of 1992. Clay had left town and she had received a letter in the mail saying she had been sexually involved with someone who had an STD. This all led into the Carter Jones crossover in October

The debut of George Pilgrim as J. He quit after several months because he felt soaps were beneath him and he wanted to do bigger stuff.

I mostly remember him for looking too old for the role and having a weird face.

George has said recently he regrets that decision

I thought he was too old as well, but he looked like he could reasonably be related to Michael Tylo (Quinton, J's dad).

Speaking of Quinton, anyone know where I can see Josh Taylor's interpretation of the role? *hee*

Not sure if that was brought up but i remember when they recast robyn griggs on AW as Maggie cory because she had been linked to that BOBBIT GUY who got his dick cut off by his crazy wife for cheating and then delved into porn as a career choice.

Apparently most of the cast turned on her and her last few days at work were really difficult.

She was recast briefly by some no name actress before lisa d brenner stepped in. LDB was ok but i liked Griggs better.

Jodi Lyn O'Keefe was the maggie between Griggs and Brenner and she was only 17 at the time. She left because she got cast as the daughter in Nash Bridges

I remember Eddie Drueding calling O'Keefe possibly the worst actor ever on AW.
