I think what I hate the most about all of this is that it doesn't even seem like someone is going to work on saving AMC if AMC stays.

The ratings increase under Pratt still confuses me, as I thought the show was unwatchable, but clearly an audience is still there. Yet no one at ABC will make the moves to do this.

Blah..blah..blah..blah..same old stuff to save AMC. Sounds familiar...like the whole plan to save Days. How many times can ABC try to save this soap?? It doesnt seem like they are doing anything right now to save AMC.

I am curious as to how the ratings were for Oprah's AMC fest. It sure didnt help give AMC a bump in the ratings with all the Erica's men crapola.

I wonder about this. OLTL has short term ratings spikes again and again. Is the show only able to appeal in these brief spikes? If you watch regularly then you start to get bogged down in how nothing changes, except things you don't want to change (generally the best of 2008 is gone, so is the best of 2009...I can't come up with a best of 2010 at the moment).

I don't think soaps cutting episode orders will help much but of all the soaps OLTL may be the one that would benefit from fewer episodes a week, because RC seems to be better at short-term writing.

Let's say AMC goes. How many AMC fans will stick watching OLTL?

Folks who watch now because OLTL comes on after AMC will be gone.

Any many hardcore AMC fans will be mad at OLTL and not tune in?

What OLTL has going for it now won't be the same with AMC gone.

AMC also has Susan Lucci to do PR , as OLTL has no stars know outside daytime.

Let's say OLTL goes. AMC loses some OLTL who are mad. They also gain FV and run o OLTL's bizz model. More than liley back at their old studio in NYC. Only actor they will lose is RB.

IMO AMC is the smarter bet. If u get rid of AMC might as well end OLTL at sametime.

As for GH , OLTL payed for it's overruns until Vanessa retruned. No reason a AMC run by FV can't do the same.

It's been given more years. I doubt they will do anything different.

But back to AMC......like Toups pointed out

AMC gained nothing during the whole snow storm fiesta .....their demos didnt budge.....That's a telling story right there.

OLTL may have gone up but the MAIN POINT is MAINTING AND HOLDING THE VIEWERS!? Did they no. No one did. Period.

Like many people have pointed out, if AMC goes first OLTL will be right after regardless. Give it 2-3 months. OLTL will hurt more with AMC gone then if AMC if OLTL is gone.

    • Darn it, Nosy Nurse! You gave SilkPress too much info.   Oh, lord...here comes Dani.   And I have an appointment so I will have to finish later.

And THIS is why I love this show. I was hoping they would play this beat cuz of...Lulu.   It has not disappointed so far at all.
    • Shanice was SO good with Leslie today omg!!
    • -- Gio is bringing the cake in that lifeguard getup.  -- Why are Laura and Sonny at the Metro Court pool?

I look forward to seeing all the characters who show up at this pool all summer. Oh, look, there's Ezra!  -- Couldn't Brennan have done a better job -- or any job at all -- of keeping Anna from investigating Dalton? Seemed to me that all he did was give her every reason to do that. -- GH does the courtroom stuff very well. We get absurd lines of questioning that no one objects to or that the judge allows, but it's good TV.
    • 1985 was a rough year for the show.  Paul Rauch had a disastrous end to his 12 year run as executive producer in early 1983.  Allan Potter, AWs original executive producer, returned to the show in 1983 and stayed until the end of 1984.  He truly turned the show around quickly.  He made the show watchable and entertaining again.  When Potter’s retirement was announced P&G was going to transfer Mary Ellis Bunim from ATWT to AW. Instead, she went to Santa Barbara to work with the Dobsons again.  This was when Schenkel was hired and made one bad choice after another.
    •   More Supremes parallel: Today Anita told Vernon that she'd anonymously sent money to Barbara's family, but it didn't relieve her feeling of guilt. I didn't realize that the Supremes were originally named the Primettes.
    • Hahahaha!!! Not Sharon with a better wig. But...could we be seeing an actual rival for Anita.   Mmmm...hey Andre hey!    Chief Executive of Orgasm is taking me out. It is weird seeing Dani in that nightie after just watching Y&R birthday party for Nikki and thinking that was what Abby was wearing and found it a miss.    Oh, lord, Bill! Hush! Big baby!!!   OMG! Nosy Nurse....read her a$$!!
    • Yeah I’m glad Anita put a stop to that. What Anita did was wrong and it’s okay for her to admit and feel what she did was wrong. The Duprees have to be wrong at some time.
    • Come thru, Anita's backstory!!! Enjoy TT having her moment.
    • Leslie is not being a very good criminal. All this asking questions of everybody is only making her look more obvious. The problem for Hayley is that she has failed to actually connect with Bill on anything other than going to bed or him buying her things. She acts like she is still the mistress and not the wife. It's fine that Vernon supports his wife, but he was making too many excuses for her and she was right to tell him to knock it off.
    • HAHAHHAHA!!! @kalbir being right on the money...right down to the music.

Nosy Nurse!!!   OMG!!! Not Nosy Nurse vs Silk Press Sheila!!!   And it's a Sara day!!!
