I have Format Factory and the conversion isn't the problem: I want to COMBINE those short YouTube clips into ONE single file but this is not working with Formast Factory for me for some reason....

    Ohhh! Hm...I'd try 'Any Video Converter' free edition. It allows you to merge two or more video clips into one file.
