I just think he's not motivated. I noticed the only scenes where he brought it was w/ Young as his co-star. CM had more heat w/ SG, and that pains me to say.

You know B&B fans would love that, Nelson Bronco tried to get him to consider it, I think JY wants a challenge and he'd get that w/ Y&R. Y&R is the top soap running in the U.S., B&B has more viewers than any soap if you count International market, I think it's 30 million out there. So B&B is never getting cancelled, Y&R and B&B will be the last two standing.

Aren't AMC's demos about what ATWT was getting around cancellation time? If a show is costing ABC Daytime money I don't see why they'd stick with it, it would be defeating the purpose. I mean heck they moved AMC to CA instead of dealing with the show's problems, and that move made even more problems

Could be...but your blinders need to come off. I had them on when ATWT was rumored to be cancelled.

I've got no blinders. I just don't see in there where it says anything about any soap getting canceled. It's people filling in blanks, that maybe are/aren't the right ones. That's all.

Until last year, the idea that AMC was getting canceled would have made me happy. Yes I said. Now? Not so much. Doesn't mean I don't think it's still in big trouble. It is. I just don't know that I buy that something that didn't come from the network and isn't verified by anyone at ABCD, is gospel. When it's confirmed, then I'll start the death knell for which ever soap. Until then, who knows.

The Talk considering its bare bones production budget probably is making a hella lot more money than an hour soap would, even if the numbers are lower. This is why there is such a push to replace the soaps with this format.

I wouldn't say The Talk is bare bones. The wife of the president of CBS is in charge and they have way too many hosts under salary. There can always be something cheaper in that timeslot.

If cheapness was all it took to keep a talk show on the air then there wouldn't be so much turnover - ABC and NBC have added and then dumped a ton of talk/morning/etc. shows over the years.

It doesn't matter what character he would play - their writing for everyone is terrible. They have done a horrible job with every AMC person who has come onto the show in the last few years. If it's about a paycheck then that's fine and I can understand that but if it's about quality, just look at what they give dead weight like Heather or Chloe or Billy or Ronan, all hyped names at AMC.

When was the last time you've actually watched it though? The writing on the show sucks and the characters do as well. It seems to be the dumping ground for AMC stars though. He'd just join the line of other stars chewing up the screen. The show is a mess despite being #1. It truly is the worst soap on the air

I think people are giving in to provincialism again. This isn't just about soaps or which soap is better/more popular, which has a crazier or more devoted "fanbase", it's about the bottom line and not just the bottom line for ABC Daytime but ABC/Disney as a whole. Also the idea that these actors will go from a dead soap to a dying soap is naive at best. Some will have to because they'll have no choice but neither Lucci nor Budig is in that category.

I didnt like Rick with Amber....I prefered him with Kim. I thought they were the next supercouple on B&B. But Bradley Bell screwed that up. I liked Justin Torkelson as Rick but always favoried Jacob.

Cane's funeral I tuned out after the montage, watched here and there. The writing sucks, I'm not gonna say it doesn't. It's AMC cast off land. Again good points, but money is money. The one thing I'll give Y&R is they write family s/ls, the plots are just LOL.

Family stories on Y&R involve Victor crushing his lice-infested brats under his foot.

Then every few months some other family has two minutes of hand-wringing because someone faked their death in a slow-mo homage to an "artistic" movie.

Next up - homage to Suspiria (Ashley walks through barbed wire as Zapato Jr chews up special guest star Shannon Tweed).
