I don't know why the NAACP even bothers acknowledging soaps. Lord knows, soaps don't return the favor.

This. It looks desperate more than anything, it's a crying shame.

Shannon Kane and JR Martinez both should be on that last, at least they actually do something special with the scraps they're tossed.

It's like when they have the GLAD awards...

yesterday on B&B, Throne asked if Thomas is gay. Im sure the show will get nominated now

Ha well Passions got nominated several times for having a story most gay blogs (if they took it even slightly seriously) saw as homophobic... Sigh.

I don't know why Y&R black people handed their stuff to NAACP.

I just think it a way for them to loss big time.

The category is really a stretch now, since there aren't many minorities that do anything on soaps. There is no point in nominating people for doing practically nothing. These days, all you have to do is be black and walk past in the background for two seconds on a soap to get nominated for an Image Award.

Coincidences.

It's all coincidences.

I think that people like Sean Ringgold, , Shannon Kane and Tika Sumpter should have been nominated in place of some other people on this list. I thought Sean did a nice job with the Greg revealing his secret storyline on OLTL. I enjoyed his acting in that storyline.

I still dont get why they wouldn't nominate Annie Ilonzeh, a black actress who actually had STORY on GH. I love Tonya Lee Williams, but she hasn't had a story in years!

Congrats to the nominees! Maybe some the african actors on others show don't seen in a reel, and that's why they are not nominated....

You're probably right. It does take a while for things to get here from Africa.

Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series

Aaron D. Spears, B&B

Cornelius Smith, Jr. AMC

Darnell Williams, AMC

Rodney Saulsberry, B&B (who the hell is this?)

Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series

Debbie Morgan, AMC

Julia Pace Mitchell, Y&R

Tatyana Ali, Y&R

Tonya Lee Williams, Y&R

Yvette Freeman, B&B (Who? )

I am beyond tired of their Y&R obsession, Tika Sumpter deserved a nod.

I hear ya.....especially when several actors listed for the Bell soaps(B&B and Y&R )are damn near invisible. Come on, Tatyana Ali, Tonya Lee Williams? When have they had an ACTUAL Story line... let alone in a scene within the last 6mths? Same goes for the B&B nominees...they're non-existent. I think this is just based on the popularity of the show/actor...they're not even thinking about actual actors who do get some storylines.

My predictions the awards will go to Debbie Morgan and Darnell Williams. Not to take away from the actors....but they're soap vets...so even if they didn't have a SL...they'd still win.
