It's really weird. Jack Wagner, Heather Tom, Brandon Beemer and Lesley-Anne Down took some massive hits.

I understand Jennifer Gareis' number since she was on leave.

I still have no idea why are they keeping Kyle Lowder on contract.

No, the episode count matters. Generally, contracts guarantee a set number of episodes per year and a set amount of money per episode. The guarantee is simply about pay or play...either the show uses the actor for their minimum or they don't, either way the actor gets paid. Anything above their minimum provides for more money, it's all about budgeting your talent vs your bottom line.

Kyle Lowder must have a rock bottom guarantee. I am thinking with Lesley Anne that her guarantee is probably something like 75 episodes, meaning that the show paid her for two shows she never appeared in but they kept her on budget.

The finances of soaps are so interesting to consider, so different than prime time and film.
