AMC Actor FIRED!

I'm sorry to hear this. I like Damon, I have liked him since the beginning, and even moreso after he started to turn his life around. I like that he had two jobs and actually liked working those jobs, plus his loyalty to Colby. I think that Asher is cuter, but that Finn is a better actor than Trent is. I wish Finn well.

This news saddens me, I really like Finn and think he's a great Actor. I love what AMC did with him at the beginning of the year. I think he is great with Colby, and works so well with Tad & Liza. We never even got to see Hillary come to town and mix it up with him and Tad sad.gif the show could have done a lot but instead they just let things sit! There was so much potential story that could have been mined from his character, IMO...

For real. But to be honest, this show is having an incredibly hard time with the younger set, and it's been like that for years now. It's not even that they keep striking it out with the characters, either. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but save for some random people who came out of nowhere (Sydney, Dre, Ava, and some others I'm probably forgetting), most of the younger characters have been generally accepted in the last six or seven years. They've just been treated like sh!t by TPTB because we're still supposed to look at the likes of Kendall, Ryan, and Greenlee as the "wild and crazy kids." Reggie, Danielle, Sean, Lily, Petey, Sam, and Maddie all had places on the show that were more than appropriate, but they were shoveled on out. I like Asher, but I'd rather see Sean or Reggie or Petey instead.

The only problem is that AMC abused those kids so much, I don't see Michael B. Jordan, Tanisha Lynn, or Daniel Kennedy coming back at all. Leven seems to be doing well for herself, and I think Bobby Steggert is doing very well in theater.

It just bugs me to realize how much life this show could have (and it DID have life earlier this year, but now it's fast on its way to being dead again). It's becoming ATWT, and that's not a good thing.

I'm almost positive that when David Gregory was signed to OLTL it was just for a one-year contract as well. If FW did leave on his own accord, I can't say that I'd totally blame him as he's been kind of punked for Asher already and the future of him and Lisa is (was) dubious. They've also seemed more interested in bringing on slightly older new talent (which is slightly refreshing  ) and not beefing up the teen/early 20s set. Of course the money is good and steady, but another year is a long time when your s/l sucks and pilot season is right around the corner.

    • I'm not sure it's as unpopular as you think.  I just think the show knew they were in a bind, and needed a proven couple for the viewers to invest in. Trying to reunite Vanessa and Ross had just failed in 87. I don't think Ed and Holly's affair was well received, as Simon and Garrett had a brother/sister chemistry. Enter Billy and Vanessa, who give you history and an out not to try and do a Josh/Reva/Billy triangle, which would've really wrecked the relationship between Josh and Billy. I'd have been ok with trying Vanessa/Ross again, and doing a Vanessa/Ross/Holly/Billy quad for a while. I hated Nadine. HATED. She had to be the most insufferable also-ran before ATWT's Julia Lindsay.
    • GROSS. Michael Swan was hot back in his ATWT days. Now he's 76 and WAY past his hot years.
    • Since she kidnapped, locked up and tried to kill her father's wife I'd say that is still a pretty big deal
    • I'm good with the gushing, too. There aren't many soap icons like John Black, and that's important to celebrate and remember. And yes, life does go on for other characters, but as they say, timing is everything. Going sky diving the day before the funeral? And during a week of shows that were so powerful emotionally? No.
    • No. There might have been a slight pause for dramatic effect after his "death," but pretty soon after they showed him in France getting plastic surgery and getting involved with his doctor, then planning with her to bring Christina to France. (She thought he had good reason to do it; she wasn't a bad person or anything). Now that I think of it, there must have been some kind of pause before that, during the 70s. Rita was accused of killing a private patient for an inheritance when she lived in Texas. Part of the backstory was that Roger had been there, too. Not sure exactly when or how long that was.
    • I've already stated that I don't like Doug being written as this meek and submissive. It was so lame watching him leave her like that. Vanessa can divorce him, but she then needs to get her thot ass into therapy. She's not only having sex with every guy she runs into, but is now having  sex with a skeevy perv on a poker table. I'm going to give the BTG some credit here. For months, many on this board were delighting in the Vanessa/Joey flirting and what they saw as chemistry. I think we're now seeing what the writers always intended -- that Joey is a disgusting POS wannabe mobster.
    • John Black actually was the ultimate good guy soap hero. So I don’t mind the town gushing over him. It’s deserved.
