That's nothing. After playing the lead role of Jo of SFT for DECADES, and after memorably bringing Aunt Meta back to TGL, the idiots at P&G/CBS could not even spell Mary Stuart's name right.

In her "tribute", they referred to her as Mary Stewart.

EGREGIOUS!

Sad to hear about DR. I remember him also being on a show in the late 80's called Danger Bay. It seems there are very few current viewers of Y&R that were around to watch the show in the 70's.

Alas, it's true. I started watching Y&R on its very first day, eager to see what the wonderful William J. Bell would do with a series of his own, after crafting such masterful stories at DAYS. I think that many longtime viewers have been turned off by the serious reduction in quality of the soaps, however, and drifted away many years ago.

I wasn't old enough to watch in the 70s (Phillip Chancellor began before I was born) but I definitely know who the character was.  And thankfully in the mid-late 90s especially, Y&R actually showed classic episodes and clips.

The Canadian fans seem the most effusive in their praise.  DR was a staple on Canadian television.  It's nice to see that he is being appreciated, even if little of it is coming from the soap world.

My mom started watching the firs day too in 1973. Around the year 2000 she lost interest. Bill Bell was no longer crafting the stories.

That's nice they have high praise for him. My first memories of Y&R are around 1979/80. The Leslie/Lorie/Lance/Lucas thing was going on and Victor's was married to his first wife Julia.

Phillip Chancellor II was part of the canvas for only 2 years. John Considine originated the role in 1973. Donnelly Rhodes took over in 1974 and remained until the character was killed off in 1975.

pannoni4, who uploads a lot of commercials and sometimes soap operas, has a Google+ channel with a few Y&R episodes from December 1984.

Just Google pannoni4's Google+ and you will quickly see a link to their soap page.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.

    • I enjoy BF better on Days than on YR.   Chad is greater than Cane, in my opinion.
    • Ick! Seeing MS and BF making out as the characters onscreen was just ewwww.
    • The SON board.

    • That was the best part of Tuesday's episode.  Martin and Smitty and their family are boring.
    • Crew Morrow's acting on Tuesday's episode was just dreadful. The weird faces he was making were just awful
    • Creatively, he probably should have stayed with The Doctors, where he stood out as an antihero lead. Not sure what happened with GH. He didn't have the same impact. Was it bad writing, not clicking with co-stars? Didn't they gave him a boat load of money to join GH in 1976? Was Mark Dante just a toned-down version of Nick Bellini? Were they basically the same character?
