I was wondering how you guys thought about the relationship between Victor and John Abbott? Aside from the infamous punch their relationship strikes me as fascinating as they seem to have the utmost respect for each other, and even from watching yr9190's 1993 playlist of episodes it struck me as interesting that John happily planned a special anniversary celebration for the day Victor founded NE while Jack was still seething over the loss of his son.

The Brad/Leslie story sounds really contrived and overly soapy. Did Brad have any story after he and Leslie divorced? How did he leave town?

How did viewers respond to the death of Jennifer Brooks? I've always been fascinated by her quite a difference for a family matriarch.

I'd love to see more of Peggy--I've often referred to her as the lost Brooks sister.

Jennifer does seem very unique, especially since so much of her marriage seemed to involve health crises - she wanted to leave Stuart but then got cancer; Stuart was going to leave her but her heart condition made him stay. How long after he learned of this did she die?

I think he left town after he and Leslie divorced, and he just left town on his own. I'm not sure. Was Deirdre Hall gone by this point? It seems like, from the recaps, it was a long, long goodbye.

I really do think John and Victor had a great deal of respect for each other. However, i believe that John could also tear Victor to shreds if he wanted to. Like Katherine, and Heather Tom's Victoria, John was probably the only other character who could REALLY stand up to Victor. The writers saw that too which is why i believe they let John punch Victor ( For once) and the best part was that i think Victor knew deep down that if he crossed John in some way, he would regret it.

Just look at Victor's face when John angrily asks him where he was all along.

The look Victor gives John IMO is a look that says that even though Victor was trying to be his tough self and not have to answer questions on why he made everyone think he was dead, he HAD to answer to John, or else he would be in trouble.

This is why if i wrote Y&R i would redo John being killed off. We need someone on the show that can really get under Victor's skin. Another good punch is well needed for Victor this time.

There was quite a few issues between Dorothy & Bill.

The decision to kill the character off was fine but the timing was really bad.

The show was changing constantly by that point & Jennifer's death didn't help stabilize it.

Bill should've waited a couple of years before doing it.

    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
