I thought they dumped Cassie in part bc Alexis Thorpe went after a bigger primetime career when Reilly arrived. (She did the ill-fated WB Dark Shadows pilot at the time, among other things.) Reilly just didn't have any interest in many of the characters he offed and had intended to kill permanently.

Lol.  It was so funny that it was normal behavior for them to just breakout "16 going on 17" midday at a park.  That menace to society Brady, who learned show tunes at his horrible prison like boarding school Marlena sent him to.  Such a weird time.  An no offense to Kyle Lowder, but he's not even that good of a singer.

Did she?  She looks like a perfect WB character.  I think you are right about her wanting to leave not vice versa.   But again, Cassie really didn't do anything.  Rex at least had the fairly interesting Mimi pairing.

I very much doubt that - her character in the Dark Shadows pilot was killed in a few scenes, so she wouldn't have been a cast member even if it was picked up. I just think Reilly wanted to kill one young person on the canvas and unfortunately Cassie was basically related to everyone at that point so it made sense to off her.

Yes, but she was going after bigger game career-wise. I'm sure they felt she was expendable on DAYS and killed her off for their own reasons, but I think that was also dovetailing with the fact that she was ripe at that age for going after bigger work outside of soaps and was going for it.

Zorro the Gay Blade's rampage at Tuscany was just as absurd in real time as it is as folklore. You're right, @DRW50, they ended up having Isabella's ghost help Brady get over his angst. Soap Opera Weekly had some fun with Kyle and Nadja's singing scenes: "Tune in for Rolf's rendition of 'Edelweiss,' followed by Alice Horton's inspiring 'Climb Every Mountain.'"

@Franko Great find. I wasn't watching much back then. I only started watching regularly again during Brash and Cwikly run. Wow Maggie and Marlena in scenes together. Along with nice production values. John calling Maggie a gossip.

I mean, me too.  I like a good musical number.  It was just strange.  Never before or after have people broken into song like that.    And it wasn't in the General Hospital 90's way where they were performing at Luke's or something.  It was just let's start singing outdated music that no one our age would possibly be into lol*

I remember thinking at the time Langan was awful, but I guess the show wasn't that bad.  I was a teenager at the time and didn't want to see the teens.  I would rather watch the older adults.  But I don't remember ever liking teen scenes on soaps.  I really only liked Brenda/Robin/Stone/Jagger et all on GH and some of Carrie/Austin/Sami/Lucas, so I may just be weird.

*And I stand by the fact KL is not a good singer.  I would just assume he is a better singer than JKJ or else Chloe/Phillip would have re-enacted West Side Story or something.

Okay.  I haven't seen this since it aired, but WTF is going on?  I have so many questions and need to break this down.

1. Is it even Halloween?

2. Brady thought it was a good idea to wear Gay Zorro costume and threaten Marlena with a sword in a public place?  And actually makes death threats lol?

3. John thinks it's a good idea to assault multiple cops?  Even if one is Roman and he deserves it because he's trying to get with Marlena?

4.  Sami's dumb ass misses the entire thing while outside the restaurant and didn't hear the restaurant being destroyed?

5. Marlena thinks sobbing and wailing is going to solve this?

6.  I am not sure John is in mercenary mode?  I think he's just being psychotic as is Brady.

7. Why is John not in jail and Brady is?  Is it because of Belle's accident?

8.  Is Kirsten Storms filming a Zenon movie or something?  They are going out of their way not to show her.

There is a lot to unpack with all this as is the fun with the restaurant patrons like OG Hattie, Faye, Dr. Rolf in disguise and I think Vivian and the girl that marries Robbie Williams.

    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
