I have a hard time envisioning Elizabeth finding a gig as successful as The View. Of course everyone guesses that she'll be a talking head on FOX news or something like that, but honestly, I think she's better off doing lighter fare, like hosting a show on the Style network (which I believe she did pre-View).

She's too old. I think they got rid of Elizabeth bc she no longer qualifies for the "young" slot on the roster. EHP is about the same age so she wouldn't suffice either. I suspect they will go back to featuring a 20 something when they name Elizabeth's replacement

Yay at Elizabeth being fired. After nearly 10 years on this show she still is horrible. Never had a problem on her view points but the way she conveyed her thoughts and acted towards certain guests just turned me off of her. They need to dump Sherri next and tell Babs' to step down and go back to the 20's/30's/40's/50's format with a woman in each age range. I would keep Whoopi but if ABC wants a complete reboot I wouldn't be that upset.

You know it started as an old soap opera set. Aparently it was a set used on The City and they just changed it a little to put The View on it in August of 1997. Now of course it's all changed but it's still the same area.

The Elizabeth stuff i still think is just a rumor. I expect to hear more on Monday's show. It should be a big one since Joy should offically announce that she's leaving and i hope Barbara clears up the Elizabeth stuff.

I remember when The View premiered... 1997... the good ol' days of soaps and daytime :) I remember hearing that The City's sets were used on The View. The most recent set change for the past couple years is way too small; I don't know why they decided to encase them in such a small surrounding.

I liked the years when Lisa Ling (although she wasn't right for this show, but she went on to be a fabulous in-depth reporter) and Meredith Vieira were on. And then the controversial Rosie season which put the show in the mainstream press on almost a daily basis!

I always liked Joy's personality, whether she had a valid point or she was just gearing up for a punchline.

Elizabitch just grated on my nerves. Not just because of her Republican viewpoint (I get that there needs to be other points of view on this show, hence the name), but because of the way she came across when discussing her viewpoint as though it was fact. And that voice.... Oy!!!! Nails on a chalkboard. Never understood what credentials she really had to be picked to be on this show. A Survivor contestant? Wow, what an accomplishment. Good riddance.

This is like a talk show version of Melrose Place. All the original residents are eventually moving out. Only Michael Mancini Barbara remains. :)

Why do they need a big set for five busybodies just sitting around chatting? Of all things it is talk shows that don't really need a set.

My opinion of the view is these people hosting it were often clueless about the things they were talking about which is why they often wound up in the news. That one host who couldn't state whether the world was round or not, Whoopi saying dog torture was a cultural thing for southern black america, and then again her defense of Mel Gibson. And of course the breakout star of the View: Star Jones. She wound up actually becoming famous thanks to her ridiculous wedding and her lies about weight loss. Joy Behar comes across as the most normal of the bunch but admittedly I have probably seen the show less than ten times during its entire run.

    • Brook Lynn has been working my last nerve for at least 2 weeks. I was so relieved when she blurted out her teen queen story to her grandmother who is the most wonderful person in the entire world!
    • Just caught up and these episodes were absolutely amazing! Ambyr Michelle was soooooooooo good, and I felt so bad for Eva, I actually teared up. I love that Andre was nice to her, that was my favorite Andre moment of the series thus far.

I don't need to warn you that if you like this & want to keep it download it. Now, isn't she positively amazing?!!! Well, IMO she is. This is only the first episode that I've got her in. I think there will be more.
    • All true, and all an enormous problem on this show. -- The business stories are maddening because none of it makes any sense, none of it has any connection to the real world. As you said, sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers, and job switching is not a storyline. -- The deck chairs are constantly rearranged on the Titanic -- that's what this show is. Summer, Chelsea, Sally, and Chloe have been in design for how long? And we've never seen ANYTHING from them. Carrying around an iPad isn't enough. BOLD is terrible, but at least they show us dresses from Kohls and jewelry from Amazon. -- I know it's baked into the DNA of the show, but I will never enjoy seeing Jabot and Newman treat each other as if no other companies exist in the entire world. A new magical line of cosmetics is not going to bring down a company like Jabot. -- This is a writing problem, not a budget problem. An enormous amount of cash is not needed to write compelling business stories and show real products. This is writer LAZINESS.
    • Right? GOD FORBID Vanessa be allowed to cut her own mother-in-law down to size, when REVA REVA REVA needs a rival to sharpen her claws on. RME I mean, they could have, but Long and Curlee (like most HW) seemed to forget about characters once they left town. If they mentioned Trish five times in the ten years she was gone, I'd be surprised.  Yeah, Alex didn't really do friendship, other than Lillian. And most of the time, Henry.  And somehow, by the time she leaves, Sonni is some friend of Mo's? Mo is just everyone's default "friend". SMH.
    • I really have no problem with Kai as a character or with the actor. The problem is putting together two very nice people -- Kai and Trina. Neither of them has a bad side, neither of them has a devil on the shoulder, neither of them is impulsive. I think that's a problem in a soap relationship. Yeah, I agree. All this freaking out might make sense if Lulu wanted to do a tabloid expose on BLQ's LOVE CHILD. We have no indication that's the case.
    • So Sonni would have somebody to talk to who she wasn't conspiring with (Will or Alan)? Alex kept telling Sonni how important her friends were...when she had virtually no friends. Instead they created loyal servants like Jane and Vera to give Alex people to play off of. They did that with Iris on AW, but Vivien was mostly there for comic relief Alex keeping Marah's paternity a secret was absurd. But I still love the scene between Alex and Alan where he convinces her by reminding her how they protected each other from their abusive father. Chris and Bev ATE that scene. Unfortunately, that took place only a few months before he exited the show...always thought they could have built on that, explored more how being Brandon's children screwed them both up. Maybe even used it as an explanation for the way their relationship could constantly swing from hatred to love. Instead of it being merely dictated by the plot.
    • The first one is Cass Winthrop dressed as Krystle Lake on Another World (not from his original creation of the character to hide from the loan shark Tony the Tuna, but at a romance convention trying to find out what had happened to Felicia who was missing). The second one is also Another World, Jake McKinnon as Doris although I don't recall what his purpose was.
