There's never a good way to transition from more softcore stroke posts, so I might as well just segue the best I can: Does anyone know if Marland always intended to break up Brian McColl (#4?) and Shannon for Duncan? He did write long story, and I'm curious. Did Pinter want to leave and they knew it, perhaps? She had solid chemistry with both men.

IIRC, Mark Pinter said that after Marland arrived at ATWT, he told Mark that he was writing Brian out of the show, and that it would take about a year. So I guess most of that story was planned in advance.

While I would welcome an Eileen Fulton interview in the Locker Room, I fear that it would just be a wasted opportunity. I just imagine the interview thus:

Alan: So what was it like working with Van Hansis?

Eileen: I never worked with him.

Alan: That's crazy! So what did you watch during lockdown?

Eileen: Look Alan I didn't agree to this interview just for this!  I'm here to spill tea!  Isn't that what you promised me to appear?

This is hilariously tragic...and true. Alan will neuter any controversial comments from EF immediately, as he is wont to do.

I tend to wonder how much Eileen will want to say anyway - I remember at the Paley Center she was very gracious. The Eileen who gave sassy comments in magazines or books is someone from 20, 30 years ago.

I am sorry she isn't getting a better interviewer but mostly I just hope she's doing alright, as I guess we all do.

Having low expectations sounds like the smart thing to do. Sad but smart. My expectations will be in the basement.

Yeah, that's usually how they always are for his shows. All we can do is hope he won't embarrass himself too much!
