Carl Tye Evans talks around 26-27 minutes about his ATWT role. He says he was not interested in going back on soaps, but his agent suggested he at least talk to the producer. He did, and the part was interesting to him. He was also glad to learn he'd be working with (I assume) Lesli Kay. Goutman said he'd been told that Carl wasn't going to audition. Carl had told his agent this as he figured CBS knew him and if they didn't want him he wasn't going to push himself. However, once he learned about the part, he told Goutman he wouldn't have a problem auditioning. He ended up getting the role without the audition.

A few minutes in Kristina Sisco (Abigail) is brought on as a surprise guest. She looks great.

In a way, I can't blame him for not wanting to return to soaps. Look at what GH is still doing to Rick Hearst, who took over CTE's GL role after he left. Even if Hearst lives in Atlanta these days, they still could do a better job utilizing him when he is available.
